South Carolina would be ending their season with a win over the 12th ranked team
They aren’t going to sit still in the rankings if they do that.

Colorado 23, no ranked wins or losses, 8-3. Lsu 7-4, wins to 15,16, and losses to 13, 20, unranked haha

This is a situation of “everyone is losing games” more so than it is a “bias” I believe but I get your point.

Yes, it’s entirely possible that SC jumps Alabama in that case. I was more focused on the possibility of a 3-loss team making it than in Bama being that team. It would be interesting to see how the committee handles it if it comes down to those two. They typically put great weight on head-to-head.

This is more of a testament to how easy it is to make this playoff this year. Makes it all the more depressing that we fricked it up. The schedule was favorable too.

Wait until they lose to Auburn.

Is this not proof that the entire system of CFB corrupt to serve money power?

That's why they had to get rid of it

Let's investigate the teams behind them and decide if they should be ranked over Bama
First let's establish Bama's resume. Losses to Vandy, OU (bad losses) and Tennessee (respectable loss). Wins against UGA (9-2), LSU (7-4), South Carolina (8-3), Mizzou (8-3)
South Carolina: Losses to LSU, Bama, Ole Miss. None of them are exactly bad losses. They don't have the wins though, best ones are Mizzou and A&M which dont stack up the wins Bama has. Plus lost to Bama head to head.
Arizona St - losses to Cincinnati (bad loss), Texas Tech (not bad, but not really respectable either). Wins against BYU and Kansas St.
Ole Miss - Losses to Kentucky, Florida, LSU. Kentucky is a worse loss than any of Bama's losses, none of them are as respectable as a loss to Tenn. Have wins against UGA and SCar like Bama does, but wins against Arkansas and OU isn't as good as wins against LSU and Mizzou.
Iowa St: best win is probably Iowa. They really don't have the wins that stack up to Bama. Losses to Texas Tech and Kansas.
I really don't see the problem with where Bama is ranked honestly. Seems to be right around where they should be if you look at it objectively. Try doing your own top 25 and see what you come up with and try to really stack resumes and look at the whole picture.

I see no problem with it either. I actually think lsu should be ahead of Iowa st ( 0 ranked wins or losses and lost to 4 win kansas), unlv (no ranked wins or losses), tulane (no ranked wins or losses), and Colorado ranked is a joke (3 unranked losses, 1 300 yds rushing to 4 win kansas, and 0 ranked wins).
Why play anyone with a pulse anymore. Who you beat or lose to literally doesn't matter. Each conference will have 3-4, teams just put in the top 25 for TV $$
Lsu beat #15,16, lost to 13 and 20

ULaLa receiving more votes than LSU. Wrap your head around that one!
Behind both Sunbelt Billy AND his old team!

Bring back BCS system and put the top 12 teams in.

Got to keep the Tide in the playoff hunt. The Tide has a national following.

in today's college football, silly media voter polls are utterly irrelevant.
Ignore them.
The only ranking that matters is the final Playoff Selection Committee's ranking. That's it. The rest is noise.

quote:uh, the BCS formula was two-thirds voter polls. The other one-third was other factors that constantly changed from year to year. It was a bad formula.

I'd much rather have a committee that actually spends time analyzing the data be the ones to make the decisions. Much like the March Madness basketball committee.
Putting any stock in silly media voter polls is dumb.
