While I think there will be some improvement by Harris, I don't see anything radical. Comparing him to Dak Prescott is a false equivalence imo. Yes, you can look at the numbers in the same year etc., but we are talking about different systems going forward. Additionally, I think Harris has been helped tremendously by his receivers. Prescott was a one man gang. I don't see the numbers for Harris dramatically improving like Prescott. The receivers can't play much better for Harris imo and a dual threat QB in a pro style offense is just a poor fit. Prescott was a dual threat QB in a read option system. The bottom line is our season will hinge on Aranda imo. An improved qb will help, but I don't see our offense doing much outside of 7. A great run game and improved defense puts us in a position to challenge for trophies. Being ranked 9th now is acceptable in my book. If we win 10 games, we will be in the mix.

Not sure what's wrong with him saying that, it's completely factual. Or do facts not matter anymore?

I agree with his opinion of our offense. Look at it this way, if the New England Patriots lined up against any NCAA team in the ten and announced "we are going to RUN THE BALL STRAIGHT AT YOU," they (NE) would NOT get very far. That is what LSU thinks it can do, and win. Maybe with a QB who has a 52% completion percentage, that's all you can do.

Has LSU at 9

How exactly is ranking a team in the top ten preseason showing disrespect? I am an extreme positiger, probably to a fault, and think LSU will be better but if you are going to do a preseason poll you have to take into consideration the year before. What he says is not wrong. LSU will have to pass better to win the SEC and if things go wrong early and it becomes obvious that Miles is gone at the end of the year the team could quit and lose in November. I don't agree with anything that he is saying but I can see how he comes to that conclusion.

His picks were how he thought the final rankings would end up.
Finishing 9th is not total disrespect, OP.
Its either LSU or Bama winning the west most likely. He picked Bama to finish 5th and miss the playoffs. He was talking schedule more so than anything else for both teams.

I wish there were no rankings or polls until mid October.

SAME RESULTS!!

The change is growth. Debate if it will be enough all you want, but your blanket statement darn sure isn't enough to assume the results will be the same.

Any NCAA team would get obliterated.
The size/skill/talent disparity is like FBS vs HS class B.

He is absolutely right but LSU coaches must be idiots to run the same offense as last year.

But with a passing game sprinkled in they can. It doesn't have to be a 350 yd passing average per game to do so.

Not sure why people are so butthurt in here. Its his opinion and he has a valid point. Stop expecting people to tell you what you want to hear about your team!

Ironically, LSU's season went to shite in the 3 games where we could not control the line of scrimmage running the ball or trying to stop the run. Harris was only truly outplayed in the Alabama game. Our defense and run game is what cost us those games.

Shhhh you are going to ruin the rant narrative. LSU does need to improve in the passing game there is no denying that but controlling the line of scrimmage is a start to that as well. Harris struggled against Arky because he had constant pressure in his face.
