LSU doesn't have a QB until Brandon Harris proves he can do something. So Cowherd is right!

Some of you are buying the hype too much. That seems absolutely logical with how the season ended last year.
LSU has a somewhat easier schedule than last season.
And LSU returns pretty much everyone.. and finally gets elite Seniors to stay for once.. who normally go pro.. These are things that often happen elsewhere, but not here..
and you expect 9 wins? which would be considered less than a season ago.. considering we missed a cancelled cupcake home game and would have had 10 wins..
Get real.
LSU very well could lose 2 games.. maybe 3..
but to assume they will lose 4 games when they have one of the most talented teams and most experienced to go with that talent.. that's pretty awful..
You are being extremely too negative. It's fine to not expect to win it all.. but to expect an actual worse season.. that's ridiculous.. 9 wins with this team is an absolute insult.
LSU has more projected 1st and 2nd rounders total in the draft than Ohio St just did this past draft.. and Ohio St. won it all with those guy 2 years ago..
Incredibly, Ohio State had five players drafted in the top 20 and another five in the top 100.
I've seen LSU have 5 projected in the 1st round, and another 3 in the 2nd round. That's 8 players in the first 2 rounds. Ohio St. had 7 taken in the first two rounds I believe.
And these projections don't even include an elite returning senior player like Beckwith, who is projected 2nd-3rd round..
It's fine if you want to be skeptical.. Miles has to show he can win in November.. but on experience alone LSU should not be worse than a season ago.. Not with a veteran QB as well. It's fine to have LSU even at 3 losses.. but 4?
That is as negative as Miles is stubborn.
Here's some more perspective.
Alabama Returning starters: 7 offense, 5 defense
Clemson Returning starters: 8 offense, 3 defense
Michigan Returning starters: 8 offense, 6 defense
OU Returning starters: 7 offense, 7 defense
Stanford Returning starters: 6 offense, 5 defense
ND Returning starters: 5 offense, 5 defense
Ohio St Returning starters: 3 offense, 3 defense
Georgia Returning starters: 7 offense, 6 defense
Ole Miss Returning starters: 4 offense, 4 defense
Michigan St. Returning starters: 3 offense, 6 defense
LSU Returning starters: 9 offense, 9 defense
LSU with that young offense had more yards per game than teams like Ohio St and Stanford a season ago..
Higher ranked offense than Stanford and Ohio St.. and they don't play in the SEC.. and LSU still had that missed game against an inferior team at home.. LSU lead the SEC in rushing last year by the way.. not Alabama.. H2H, Harris actually had a TD pass on the road versus Alabama.. they had no TD passes.. yet the secondary was often out of position under Steele.. and still held their top receiver to 7 catches and only 50ish yards.. We aren't that far off from being a highly successful team with more experience.
What we accomplished offensively was actually quite impressive for such a young team.. We are going up against teams returning less guys while we will have more experience.. That matters.. And strength matters.
Knock on wood, but it seems like all the stars are aligning for LSU.. and say a team like the defending champs.. they continues to have things go against them.
It's nice to see the change for once.

This is what the Rant has been preaching since Miles got here. Colin Cowherd says it and he's an idiot. Jeez...

FWIW, I'm not the least bit concerned about a person like Coward's projections or predictions. He doesn't bother me whatsoever. They can prove him wrong.
That's his thing.
It's just frustrating to see our own fans get so negative. I understand not getting overly excited.. or even being skeptical, but to assume a worse season than last year is a travesty.
Come on.. I don't always agree with Miles or his philosophies.. and he frustrates the heck out of me.. but I can at least recognize this team is in a far superior position on experience alone. (Regardless of coaching or lack of progression.)
I believe LSU has made some tremendous upgrades in coaching though. Another season under Orgeron with more depth on the line. Adding DC Aranda. I believe Craig is a massive upgrade over Ball. He seems technical and passionate coaching the players up. They seem to respond very well to him. The defensive players often say they respond well to Aranda's style as well.

And if he was dumb enough to run LF over and over against Bama last year, you know it's going to be the same this year.

How can you be mad at the Turd for that? Leslie has a lot to prove this year. He has the best coaching staff and they are being paid a ton of money. He has a deep talented roster. All he needs to do is get out of the way and be a CEO coach. It is unfair to call for the OC job when everyone knows the OC is hog tied by Lelsie on game day. I will agree with Colin on this one because Leslie is stubborn.
Posted on 8/2/16 at 7:04 am to HailHailtoMichigan!
If Les trots the same offensive plan out there, it'll be the same result. Sorry.

But where was Michigan?

Yep, but you're omitting that we changed OCs and went from Studrawa's terrible offense to Cam. That was the main jolt to the offense in 2013.

Put me in the wait and see camp. The blind faith is gone. Prove it on the field. Stats are for losers.

LSU got the benefit of the doubt for a long time.
Nows the time you prove something on the field, something they haven't done lately.

I have a NEWSFLASH for you. In 2015 we had...
Same QBs as 2014
Same OC as 2014
Same HC as 2014
Yet we had different results. In 2014 the passing game was virtually non-existent. Without looking it up I think the completion percentage was 48 or 49%. In 2015 the completion percentage was about 54%.
If we get the same improvement this year we're pushing 60%. I'm not saying it will definitely happen, but your attempt to prove otherwise is belied by the facts of the year before.
