LSU's goals are as follows:
1) Win Division
2) Win Conferece
3) Win National Title
In the current landscape of college football, to achieve any one of the above goals, LSU MUST beat Alabama. So yeah, Alabama will ALWAYS be part of any conversation concerning LSU football.

It’s not whining when it’s established fact. Saban , being both smart and unethical, encourages recruits to cause other teams to waste time and resources by feigning interest long after there is none. If you don’t believe that, it’s because you aren’t paying attention.

It really is amazing how beta this fan base has become.
That being said, if Alabama was losing 3-4 games a year, a loss isn't a big deal. But you can safely assume Bama will win every game. So to win division and conference, they are the team on the schedule most important to beat.

No, IT IS REAL. Perhaps not to the level that some portray it, but when the SEC offices are in Alabama and a lot of the refs live there, there is influence.... may not even be intentional, but humans get influenced.
Look at the selection committee.
