In the current landscape of college football, to achieve any one of the above goals, LSU MUST beat Alabama. So yeah, Alabama will ALWAYS be part of any conversation concerning LSU football.
It's always the biggest obstacle. Unless 3 other nationally recognized power 5 teams are undefeated at the end of the season, even if you beat Bama, they'll go to the playoffs. Since we are in the SEC West we'll have to beat Bama at the very least once in a season if have any chance to win a national championship.

Nobody gives 2 shits what you’re trying to sell about this staff. The comment about beating the best is spot on. Unless you build a team to do so starting with the ADs office, accept your status as a second/third tiered SEC team. TAMU has passed LSU with Fisher. Let UT hire Briles and watch that team rise. It’ll be UF, UT, UGA again and Alabama, TAMU and Ole Miss. There is more hope in Oxford than Baton Rouge...

I think it's pretty well established Alabama is the dirtiest program in the country and has been for a long time. My question is why LSU's compliance cucks seem as though they're out to destroy our team every year. I don't care about some kid smoking weed or a GA taking a test for someone. Half of Bama's players can barely read or write and somehow they're staying eligible, why aren't our guys? Eddy Lacy is basically illiterate and they got him through. What gives?

I try not to harp on any one topic, but since you're bringing it up... Yes I believe Saban actually encourages some recruits to pretend they are interested in us. I have no reason to believe Saban wouldn't stoop that low, and the late de-commitments, or players saying that LSU "leads", only to choose Alabama on signing day, would seem to back this theory up.

Yeah, I guess you're right. We shouldn't talk about all of their "poor" recruits, fresh out of highschool with their Dodge Chargers. We should demand that LSU be corrupt, as well. That way we can all watch as the NCAA gives our program the death penalty, on account of we're not one of the "chosen" programs who are allowed to do almost whatever they want.
At least then we won't have any of our own fans complaining that we "whined" too much.

It's not just in the SEC; it's nationwide.
2011: LINK . (Quinn Sharp FG called no good)
2012: LINK (Zach Ertz incomplete pass overruled to TD with no conclusive evidence)
2017: LINK (Wisconsin WRs get mugged by Ohio State DBs, no flags thrown)
All 3 of these games got Bama back into the national title hunt.
