Yeah, hadn't done so for 5 years before Miles was canned.

2012 we absolutely were in the hunt. 2013 if the defense could stop anything. 2015 if we could have beaten Bama who knows.

But hey, you do you.

or with a defensive stop in the A&M game

OR we score more than 24 points or we just get 1 more first down in regulation.

Again the defense wasn't great, but the offense wasn't either in regulation.

Do you think a better offense would have lost that game.

All everone here wants to due is duck a super easy question:

Wouldn't a better OC have done better?

Well, if those don't count, then only two teams could have been in the hunt, 4 once the playoffs came around.

SO you either have a ridiculous definition, or you're just being a petty little bitch because it involves Miles. It's probably both.

You will be hard pressed to find struggling teams who change coaches who have much better two first seasons.

But keep clinging to Troy, you may be able to fall back on it if we somehow falter again.

Whats a struggling team?

We haven't had a losing season since 1999

We haven't had less than 8 wins since 1999

in 2015 we would have been a 10-3 team if we played a full schedule.

We weren't a rebuild

AND answer the real question

Wouldn't we have done better with a better offense?

Being interim coach is very different than being permanent head coach. One is supposed to build and maintain the program and one is a bandaid just trying to slow down the bleeding.

Are you saying that his interim stints, including the one for the job he ultimately landed, should have had less bearing on the decision than when he was a FT HC?

I understand that running the program is a year round job, but it’s not like he wasn’t doing that during the season. I’m not saying it was more relevant experience than OM but it was certainly relevant. Wouldn’t an internship at a company you are interviewing with be just as relevant, if not more relevant than prior experience with a competitor?

Solo Cam during the O era:

quote:

Before he was hired I said I wouldn’t mind him Herman or Jimbo if O kept his promises. After the Canada experiment and Troy I was all the way out. Didn’t think they should have fired him but said if he regressed in year 2 then fire him. After Auburn last year I said he earned at least another year. After Georgia I said I was in. After the Bama game I said he needed to do something to modernize the offense. He’s done that.

Let's see a post from you predicting the number 1 offense in year 3 after two years of struggling with that side of the ball.

I will stick to what I said at the time . The hiring PROCESS was a clusterfrick. The actual hire of Coach Orgeron had a certain undeniable logic to it, given the circumstances. And as they say , All is well that ends well. In Orgeron we have a man who is ready for the challenge.

DJ Chark was a second round pick
Moreau is in the league

Sullivan and Dillon have tons of talent

Drake and Anderson were on the team too, and they both had lots of on the field potential.

Do you really believe NO ONE could have put out a better offense with those players?

nope

Regardless of how bad our offense was last year (not as bad as everyone claims) the defense had a 7 pt lead with less than 2 minutes left in the game and allowed A&M to go 80+ yds to tie the game. I am not sure when LSU fans stopped thinking our defense should win the game in that situation...I guess the same ones not upset with the defensive rankings this year.

Probably but impossible to prove either way.

Does a new qb, young and injured line, new rb's have any impact on offensive performance?
