Because he has NEVER won THE BIG GAME.

That is THE BIG REASON. He is not tough enough and does not demand that his players and coached be tough enough.

But he is a nice guy.

if I had to guess what someone named Florida Georgia Line looked like, that would be pretty close

I think Kelley could be very successful. The days of Saban type success are likely gone, though.

WINNING IS EVERYTHING> CHAMPIONSHIPS will bring in the players. Coaching helps yes, but prove to a 18 yr old looking for a ring, that you have the ability and know how to get a ring>>>THEY WILL COME. Saban got LSU to what it wanted so badly. Bama wanted what LSU HAD. THEY GOT IT!
Now, Kelly is getting the resources to take it to the next level>>This is what will decide.
Question between the two levels?
1> NIL Money
2> Championships

This is fastly becoming free agent NFL STYLE FOOTBALL.
Money talks and BS Walks.

Also most LSU fans don't particularly like Brian Kelly and if he drops a few games they will turn on him quick and he will be on a hot seat that he's never known.

name one head coach in the last 40 years that this wasn't true about.

hell during the '03 title season there were people bitching about Saban and wanting him bench Mauck.

slow to address problems, like our stinky defense

WTF?

He just replaced the ENTIRE DEFENSIVE coaching staff, did you expect him to fire & replace his whole defensive staff mid season?

Correct...

LSU fans are somewhat uniformed what was built in T town for the last 17 years. It's nothing short of amazing.

We know people who graduated from Alabama 30 years ago..."its nothing like what it was when I went there"

They have huge construction projects happening as we speak.

As I've stated a few times, the campus is really nice...as is downtown...

They raised billions and invested in the university and development came along with it... restaurants and amazing hotels...

17 years of #1 and #2 recruiting classes tied to the current Alabama brand ...

It is not the typical situation when a legend retires. The barn is full of talent...

It will not be the Same without Saban...but I'm kind of expecting a lot winning to continue. The decline will be very slow....

But with NIL and portal..who knows

Kirby is still at UGA and will pose problems.

BK could go on a run just need to keep making good staff hires. We have the talent in state and close by that with good recruiting you are truly in the title hunt.

It's amazing how many people on this board don't realize that will no longer be divisions in the SEC.

Yes. NIL and Portal. This is why no one will go on a mini-Saban like run. Some plays have stopped playing in the middle of a season if they feel like they aren't getting paid enough. Team roaster is determined by the highest bidder. Coaching, thus, will have to be the determining factor among the elite programs.

Kirby Smart is currently in the thick of one now. They aren't going away anytime soon. In a just world they would've been playing for their 3rd title in a row last week and likely would have won(though Michigan was no slouch). That program has been #1 for damn near 3 straight years. Kirby can't help the playoff committee forgot who the real power is currently based on one loss in damn near 3 years. Saban was gifted a playoff spot. Resume means less than 1 game because of timing. Texas fell under the same bs way of thinking. UGA should've been in. No dog in the fight but just saying repeating Sabans run, while improbable, isn't impossible.
