Our biggest hurdle to win the SEC West is gone. I know people are still figuring out NIL and what happens to it.

Having said that is there reason to believe we can't make a few runs at the NC in the next 6-8 seasons and win a couple or maybe even three? It that too much to expect from CBK?

Yeah, the main one, he hasn't shown yet in his career that he can recruit at the level Saban can. I'm not talking one year. I'm talking 5 to 10 straight seasons in the top 3 in recruiting.

Yes.

Multiple playoff appearances? Not unreasonable. A NC in the next 3-4 years? Also not unreasonable. Three in the next 6-8 seasons? Probably not.

Yes, Saban is gone, but Georgia is still very much a powerful program. They have kind of slid into Alabama's dominant spot. Also, the league will now become even more cutthroat in recruiting with the entrance of Texas and Oklahoma. And it's highly doubtful Alabama will just go away. It's unlikely they will be as good as they were under Saban. But they should still be very competitive.

It will be difficult for anyone to go on that type of run again with the current landscape of college football. Saban can say all he wants that that had nothing to do with his retirement but he isn't being quite honest. He went into the grind of the daily job and being able to be committed to working till 2 a.m. and then getting back to work at 6 a.m. but with NIL and transfer portal those hrs just got longer. Teams will find it difficult to keep their depth which was a strong point for Saban and there will be more parity. Could BK win 1-3 Nattys in a 10 year period? Maybe but will be difficult for anyone to do in this day and age in my opinion.

He doesn't win big games and he doesn't have balanced football teams.

Kelly was 4-11 vs top 10 in 12 seasons at Notre Dame.

Brian Kelly is currently 2-4 at lsu vs top 10 teams.

That’s all changed with NIL. If he has the $ to throw around he will be successful

No divisions in conferences, 12 team playoff, I think those days are over now.

No, the new playoff format and direction of CFB is going to make it a lot harder for anything resembling what you’re talking about to happen.

Any reason? LOL. The decent posters in here could list a dozen of them in 10 minutes. Think about it.

There is no SECW.

The SEC, especially with Texas here now, will be in a power struggle up top with Texas and Bama. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Would the SEC give LSU the type of help needed to go on a "run" like Bama? Not no, but hell no.

It is almost as if many of you here pay no attention at all to how things work in this corrupt conference.

Yes, several. He’s not, nor will Brian ever achieve what Saban has accomplished. NIL is number 2. Brian is a great coach, but he’s no GOAT.

I would add to this that he is to slow to address problems, like our stinky defense and our special teams last year.
