You literally see Schnall say "Or what? Or fricking what?!" directly to the ump's face. They showed him fricking what

I read his lips to say "for what", personally. Not "or what". In the context of asking why they received the warning.

The way he aggressively walked toward the ump and shouting was the nail. There is a better way to express your displeasure of the strike zone such as from the dugout and not on the field.

And I do believe the umps knew about his reputation and also his behavior all week at Omaha gave the umpires a short leash.

I personally don't love the quick hook in a championship game, no matter who the coach is. But it's technically the rule so I'm not going to cry about it for him either. Jay got ejected earlier in the year for doing the exact same thing.

Hopefully he listened to what Jay had to say about the hit by pitch.

This is what the announcers said during the game. If I heard them correctly, the rule is that once the umpire issues a warning, you can't leave the dugout. If you leave the dugout, it's an automatic ejection. The umpire did give him some grace as he came out of the dugout after the warning and wasn't immediately ejected. It was only after he continued lipping off that he was tossed.

The 1B coach got a warning. The HC wanted to know why? That's reasonable. But then the HC doubled-down and said the 1B coach was in the right as the HC kept coming out of the dugout. The ump tried to tell him to go back to the dugout so he wouldn't get tossed. The HC, by his OWN words was not going to be shooed back to the dugout. So he argued more, got tossed, then turned into Randy Marsh. "Is this America? I thought this was America!"

When keeping it real goes wrong

ESPn showed him warning him over and over and he just kept coming. He earned his ejection it wasn’t like he got ejected for chirping from the dugout

Those weren't warnings. They were shooings. The Ump should not ever shoo a 48 year grown man. Especially one on roids.

He warned him 3-4x. How much more grace do you want? People can slam the ump all they want from a completely unbiased point he did the right thing. He warned him clearly at least 3x and Schnall kept escalating it then threw the F bomb to him talking down to him. He deserved the ejection. Lay off the roids maybe you can control your emotions better. They weren't winning yesterday with or without him anyway. As soon as Morrison got bounced that game was over.

Should there maybe have been some grace given the situation? That’s up for debate.

If Schnall hadnt been tossed, you can only imagine what future series would have devolved into. Coaches knowing full well they were going to get way with beyond reasonable expected behavior. Just because it was the championship

Just like in daddyball, he wanted to make it about himself rather than managing the game

No, absolutely not. The opposing coach does not get to cause distractions when the LSU pitcher is on the mound. That's a distraction to our pitcher and disrupts the flow of the game.

If this were allowed, coaches would throw hissy fits every time the opposing pitcher got into a groove.

I just watched it again & again. He said “for what” twice. At first I thought he said F also, but I watched it over and over. I’m pretty good at reading lips and I turned the audio way up. You can hear him say “for what” He was asking the ump why the 1st base coach was getting a warning. It was a warning because he was starting to write it down on his little pad, as he was telling Schnall he was giving a warning for his 1st base coach.

My mistake, then. That's less antagonistic, but he still came off as a douche.

Obviously Schnall has a reputation but if he was talking to the HP ump about the warning given to his 1B coach then he probably at least should have the ability to talk about it with the HP umpire instead of being told to go back in the dugout

He was given that chance. He used that chance to make a very public and unprofessional comment about what he thought were missed calls, and how many of them.
