There's a Lightning game in Tampa on NYE.
Are you sure about that? They have a home game on Sunday the 29th, and then they're on the road, I think.

Everything you need to know about Tampa: Tiger Fans will fit better at South Tampa bars. Ybor at night is a fricking nightmare, clubs and shite like that.
St. Pete is better than Tampa in every conceivable manner. Cross the bridge, hit up the beaches/downtown museums, etc.
I agree with all of this. If you wear tap out shirts you'll prefer Ybor City. At night downtown St. Pete is livelier than downtown Tampa and it's not just old people, although there are certainly a higher ratio of blue hairs during the winter. St. Pete is more of a free spirit.
Any Lance Armstrongs going to the game may want to check out the Pinellas Trail. I rode it once all the way from downtown St. Pete to Tarpon Springs.

Hiro's Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi Bar in St. Petersburg, on 4th street, has half off sushi after 10 p.m. every night, great food, an even better after a late night.
Also if you want something different, but excellent head to.
Mediteran Restaurant
6500 4th St N
St. Petersburg FL 33702
It's a little hole in the wall place, but it has authentic mediterranean food. Try Cevapici. It's like a beef/sausage mixed meat formed into a link. Served on this amazing fresh made bread.
Wife is from there, and those are our two favorite stops.

Hey guys I posted this on "And the Valley Shook", just wanted to get the word out. You guys will be happy to know that Tampa is one of the largest craft beer markets in the south. I am from Slidell (my son is a junior at LSU) and am a partner in a craft beer taphouse and brewery called Brewer’s Tasting Room, located right across the bay in St Petersburg. We are literally a 15 min drive from the stadium in in Tampa. We have 30 taps, 20 continuously rotating premium craft beers from around the country (unfortunately I do not think NOLA Brewery is distrubuted here yet, wish they were, we would love to have a keg during New Years) and 10 self service taps which are brewed in house by talented local home brewers and brewers from other brewry’s who want to showcase new beer on our self service taps. We also have the best Smokehouse Barbecue in the area. Anyone in LSU gear will get Happy hour prices all week long from the 30 Dec-3 Jan. Website is brewerstastingroom.com. Address is 11270 North St Petersburg! Hope to see you guys! Geaux Tigers!

Just looked your store up, it really is a short drive across the bridge.
I'll be stopping by one of these days in P&G to see if I can score some preferential treatment. It's worked a few times at Ricky P's downtown.

Taco Bus is cool. It's similar to Taco Cabana in Houston,
I hope not
Cabana's breakfast tacos are tolerable

I can't wait to visit your place. My sister lives in St. Pete and we visit frequently.

Good Cuban = La Teresita on Columbus.
Bern's is a cool ambiance but for steaks I prefer Charley's.
