At the time they chose to cancel the game, the storm had the look of coming close enough to Gainsville to warrant then not playing there. But the game should have been moved. The SEC commish has got shite on his hands. Plain and simple. Here's the funny part of all of this. FLA is not really that good. They barely beat a horrible candy team. I think UGA throttles them anyway. So them thinking this may help them could backfire BIGTIME.

Hooray for Joe.

Tell them how it's going to be.

But, since it seems like Joe might have some leverage in this situation, I think he has to include a clause in any negotiations that Bug Eyes Tom Ritter can never officiate another LSU game ever.

You obviously did not notice how he looked like he was being forced to eat a shite sandwich when he made that statement at the post-A&M presser.

As a gator fan I am ok with Florida playing here in baton rouge on 11/19 but being Florida should have played at home LSU should play the next 2 years in Gainesville. LSU doesn't want to lose a home game and i do not think it is right to have Florida lose a home game either

woohoo, I called up tigerdroppings and I am greeted to this awesome freaking news! I was expecting Alleva to cave but again I have to give him credit where credit is due. He has handled this very very well! It isn't over yet but I am overjoyed right now.

The problem with that it doesn't mitigate the loss of revenue from the south alabama game. That's still a loss of at minimum 6.5 million for LSU and loss of money for the city of Baton Rouge.

Then your issue is with your AD. He had ample time to reschedule in Gainesville.

Not if all the proceeds goes to LSU as a home game and then play next 2 years in Gainesville. LSU still has sec home game and Florida gets extra home game next year to make up for the loss of home game this year

Alleva is doing the right things. Actually the best option is for the SEC commissioner to say divisional champs will be determined by the divisional games which will force Fla to accept to play even in BR.

And if LSU finishes with 1-loss which allows Bama to go to the SECCG, despite the head to head

And Sankey says Alleva refused to cooperate on a reschedule.

THIS PLACE WILL EXPLODE

Alleva is overplaying his hand. Just like he was when he was strong arming Foley, trying to get an extra home game. You don't piss somebody off, just by offering them to come to your house, There was more going on than we have been led to believe by LSU. Because at the time Tenn was rolling, and Fla might have been shut out of the SECCG by not playing the game

With all the talk about the keeping the integrity of the league, it would probably add more question to it by changing the rules mid-season. It's more likely the SEC Championship game gets moved back one week to accommodate the game in Gainesville.

IMO, it would also be interesting if a bye week were permanently added at the end of the season for make-up games should they be needed. Another option would possibly be to rely solely on division records moving forward to determine the champion with no regard to overall record or national rankings.

Y'all could have had your home game. Your coach and AD were scared to play. Not our problem. Play here 11/19 and next year due to your incompetence!

Except for a couple of rational people on here, for me reading this thread is like watching the twilight zone. I just don't understand why almost no one here seems to be able to grasp the obvious:

1) LSU needs this game more than anyone else in the SEC. With this game we again control our own destiny. UT needs this game a little less than LSU since they still control their own destiny if it doesn't get played. The rest of the SEC are either neutral or benefit from this game not being played, especially Bama, aTm, Auburn, and UF.

2) The SEC already allowed this to happen and gave them cover. THERE WILL NOT BE A UF FORFEIT! PLEASE, let's drop this stupidity.

3) If LSU does not play in the SEC CG, there is no possible way they get into the playoffs. Please stop with that nonsense.

4) Even if we win the SEC CG, a 9-2 team does not make it into the playoffs. It's a stretch for a 2 loss power five team to make it in as it is. To add one less win is a bridge too far.

5) Why is it so smart to "stand our ground" and finish the job that they started? They WANTED this game to not be played. We're just giving them cover by appearing to dig in. I'm sure they're going to be happy to say, "Well then, I guess we can't work it out."

6) Standing up for our guys would be giving them their best chance to win. If that means taking a hit in some way to make it happen, so be it. No doubt, they screwed us. Is anyone here besides me not surprised? We don't have leverage. We don't have clout. Sometimes in playing chess, you lose your queen. Still, UNTIL WE LOSE AGAIN, the game isn't over.

Sure, if we lose again, then screw them all. But as of now, this could still turn out to be one of the greatest seasons of all time. However unlikely, I don't think our administration, our coaches, our players, or our fans should give up until we actually lose. And the longer we take to work out a deal, the less likely it is to happen. So I say, cut the best deal that we can get ASAP and then cheer for Coach O and our boys to accomplish the near impossible and REALLY STICK IT TO A THEM FRICKIN CHICKEN SHITS AND THE SEC BY WINNING.

ETA: I realize that most people will not like this post, but if any of you can point out what parts of my logic are wrong, I'd be happy to join the bandwagon. Please enlighten me on what I am missing here.

As much as I'm enjoying seeing our AD take a stand, I have to say, that if LSU pulls off a miracle and wins out, I'll be pretty upset if we miss out on the SECC game just because we wanted
to play one more home game.

I don't think he should be so ardent. If we beat Bama, then I don't care about an extra home game against a non-SEC opponent... Don't be too inflexible just yet...

a two loss SEC champion with wins over Bama, A&M, and the East champion absolutely WILL make the CFP
