Since a new PMAC is a frequent topic of discussion, here's a look at a proposed new construction of a rival to provide an idea on cost, design and capacity

quote:

Capacity: Approximately 10,136
Timeframe: TBD
Price tag: $183 million
Location: Four possible locations were presented, one was preferred.
Student seating: Approximately 2,200 student seats to surround 3/4 of the lower-level by the floor.

For comparison

Ole Miss $96.5 million in 2016 9,500 capacity

Auburn Arena $86 million in 2010 ($103 million inflation adjusted) 9,121 capacity

$183 M/ 10,361 seats = $17,662 per seat

For a new PMAC, I’d be in for two or four in perpetuity.

Great that they are building now so that we can make sure ours is better.

It looks like a Mega church to me

But if you've been to Bamas campus, they're trying to make it as cohesive as you can make an arena blend in I suppose

Hey how about a clay tiled roof on a basketball arena? It'll blend right in right?

Looks great. Bet their big wigs and old people are in red seats leaving students for bottom access around other side.

I agree, looks like a shed. Cheap looking lazy design.

I do like the actual floor seating instead of having advertising there

Funny you say that. It looks like the front of a Baptist church where I grew up.

I’d like LSU to get a new arena and the exterior resembles the Italian Renaissance architecture around the Quad.
