re: After 2.5 seasons, can anyone really envision Kelly fielding a NC team?

No too many holes. He hasn’t recruited a top WR or DB yet that has produced and they grow on trees in Louisiana.

It’s fine to have one bad game. Fine-ish. But this is 2.
College QBs in year one have to have 11/12 good games
Lawd the bar is high

lol this guy can’t even beat ranked teams mid-season. Much less post season. Do we even make the 12 team playoff?

Maybe
Could've won it last year except for the train wreck on D. Haven't given up on this year. If a 2-loss team gets picked then maybe us.
What's gonna hurt going forward is there will be a rebuild on O for '25. So next year's not looking promising. Beyond that I feel like we will have to either: a) just a crazy talented roster and/or b) a difference maker like Cam or Joe at QB. If Bryce is that dude then there's a good chance.

Yep gotta give him a few more years. He has an amazing coaching staff, and great classes incoming. We’re going to wreck shite in a couple years.

Ed fricking Orgeron won one here.

Not if we stick with Joe Sloan as OC.
I’m done, dude is a QB coach and passing game coordinator. A high end one even. Dude can’t even spell running game.

I just don’t see it ever happening for him here.

We’ll never win one with BK the game has passed him by and it was on full display tonight

This is a joke, right? BK will be lucky to make a playoff before he’s ran out of town.

Yes. We are farther along than I ever expected after the final two years of Orgeron. Keep the recruiting going and keep your current coaching staff. I do understand that most of our fans have absolutely no clue about football so we have threads like this.

Being honest, I would love to see what happens when Baker has more time with the team. His plan was so good today it got the starter benched. Lots of people really turned on him second half but let’s see what happens when he has time to prep for a dual threat QB next game. If he has a good defensive game on Alabama then I’m excited for the defense.
Offense is one dimensional this year. It’s all in on passing. 2nd and 10 is very concerning. The predictable runs are killer that set up 3rd and long. So the jury is still out there.
If this defense played USC today, I see a double digit victory. They just were not on the same page the first three or so weeks. Today’s loss I blame a lot of mistakes on special teams and QB play. Taking their starting QB out of the game really hurt us.

If John Madden was an LSU football fan watching the game tonight, he would have shattered a clipboard into a million pieces.

I can. Im not a candy arse that throws a fit after every loss. I know for a fact LSU is going to dominate going forward. If you think what he's doing in recruiting and what these coaches have done this year isn't going to improve, you just have no forward thinking.
Simply put LSU wins this game if Nuss doesn't throw those 3 ints. Defense had trouble, but it's a lot harder to travel the legnth of the field, than 25 yards. LSU was doing incredible before the QB swap. It wasn't that the kid could run, we've faced that this year, it was that LSU didn't have their ducks in order for the QB change. I mean i give Elko major props for changing what many would consider, damn near at the perfect. Usually you'd have been down by 3 TDs or a guy throwing multiple ints before that happened.
LSU losses bring out the absolute worst in people.

I absolutely can not. Lack of physicality and a boring arse offense without imagination that can't run the football. No way we win a NC with him. Maybe another Heisman but no Nattys
I want to see what we look like with the talent that’s on the way over the next two classes, especially on defense. The incoming class is probably one of the top 3 we’ve had since 2001. Having more elite talent than we’ve had for the last 5 seasons certainly isn’t going to make us worse.

No. His team consistently is undisciplined and he clearly has under prioritized for 3 seasons special teams, which once again has cost his team dearly.
He’s not a good enough coach to overcome playing super talented teams. It works in division 2 or when at Cincy in a shite conference, but at ND, he only really won games agains mediocre teams and generally lost against good teams. ND just played joke schedules most seasons.
ND’s offense is looking worlds better than LSU’s and with his OC here from last year.
Yes, they are playing shite teams, but they are looking good doing so and beat this A&M team to start the season.
He will be the first since DiNardo not with an SEC Title or NC.
