People are so dumb if they think Jay has no say after these multiple long postseason delays with no rain. But people also think it's smart to throw an ace in the 1/4 game.

Just find it odd that the same protocol has been played out a few times during the season that’s happening tonight
It’s not really odd at all.

Every single Game 1 at the other 15 regional sites will finish before LSU starts. What a joke.

Actually other regionals have experienced more rain and more threats of rain…

Serious question. How bad has it been? Family member works at LSU and said it hardly sprinkled. That the 2:00 game would have been done.

It was sarcasm . . . Your family member is correct.

I don’t find it odd. The ncaa isn’t deciding shite man. They are going to let the home rep make all the suggestions like always and rubber stamp it. They aren’t sending any weather people to 16 regionals The ncaa barely does shite for regionals besides sending banners, a rule book, and a check

You couldn’t be any more incorrect

I meant serious question on my end. There seemed to be a lot of conflicting weather reports.

Was out there all day and not once did I hear thunder much less see a lightning bolt. It might have sprinkled .10 inches at one point.

The entire delay, it was the same it is on any typical summer afternoon. Hot, humid, overcast, with a 50% chance and rain clouds overhead. They tried to make it seem as though there were lightning storms and a tropical system coming through.

No A-Hole! Jay and LSU has no control over weather delays in post season. Read today's Advocate article by Scott Rabalais and educate yourself. NCAA has complete control over post season events.

I knew that; which is why I took the time to tell you that your family member was correct.

It may have only sprinkled at the Box. However, we had a couple of short but heavy showers about a mile south the Box. No lightning.

That whole delay tactic smells.

Appears ncaa official has final say

I doubt that. Later it says…

Host Institution Representatives: The university hosting the regional is responsible for coordinating logistics and ensuring the safety of all participants.

The liability lies with the host institutions, so I’d bet they have the final say, otherwise the NCAA would be taking on that liability.

It's a NCAA tournament hosted by LSU. NCAA representative runs the show. If you watch you can figure out who the representative is. In this case it's a WOMAN. WTF?

Correct. The NCAA rep in coordinations with NCAA HQ has final say on all that stuff. They consult with the host team's people but ultimately they make the final call. There's rules on what can be shown on the video screens, what can be done pregame, etc. And a lot depends on who your NCAA rep is. Some are much more laid back and go with the flow than others.
