Nuss is a gunslinger. We all knew we would likely have to live with a few more int’s with him than we did with JD and JB. Now take into consideration we can’t run the damn ball, have very vanilla offensive play calling, the fact that it is his first year starting and the he knows we have an Poor to average defense at best. Put yourself in Nuss’s place. I’m sure he feels like every game rests completely on his shoulders.

I’m not ready throw this kid under the bus. Yes he needs to improve, but so did JD and JB after their first seasons. Nuss chose to stay and wait his turn when most would have hit the portal. That kind of loyalty means something to mean.

Now imagine Nuss, if we had even just good run game. Imagine if we had an OC that was a tad more creative. Imagined we had even just top 20 defense.

Nuss likely won’t be a Heisman QB but he doesn’t have to be. Matt Mauck wasn’t. Flynn wasn’t. He is good enough get us a Natty. We just have to put a team around him that is capable of winning a Natty and this team ain’t it.

He’s great, but folded like a cheap umbrella in the second half.

Having no run game against good defenses certainly does not help him. But neither does 3 interceptions of him throwing directly at the other team all in the span of 15 minutes of play.

Pretending that Nuss is even in the same league as Matt Flynn is absolutely laughable.

Nuss should be under center running some play action. Our run game would probably improve as well.

I don't understand why you can't just say Nuss is very talented but he played like shite last night. He is having growing pains getting reps and experience but we don't have to blame the entire offense besides him for throwing three terrible interceptions.

I am excited for the team to have Hilton knock rust off and Daniels healthy after the bye.

Imo the issue is if you don't have a run game stop using one of your 3 plays every drive to try and gain 1/2 a yard. Just count it as a waste and give Nuss 3 plays instead of 2

In 2007, Flynn completed 56% of his passes with 21TD and 11 INTs. Yes, Nuss is in his league.

I'm not giving up on Nuss like half the board seems to be.

There was no reason to throw that first pick though. We were up 10 and had been controlling the game. That throw had no chance , running to his left with Anderson running upfield away from him in the opposite direction with a defender right there. Just throw it away and punt. Instead A&M returns it inside the 10, they score immediately with a new QB, and it snowballed from there.

Who knows what happens from there, but that certainly seemed to be the unraveling point on both sides of the ball.

He’s got the same rating as JD5 had his first year at LSU. He will never be that guy, and he’s physically talented, but the scheme is not there and doesn’t have it between the ears at this point.

My biggest concern is that he doesn’t seem to have the football IQ and mechanics you’d expect from a coach’s son.

I'd say he's thrown more than a "few more ints".

Burrow 2018: 4 INT
Burrow 2019: 6 INT

Daniels 2022: 3 INT
Daniels 2023: 4 INT

Last 4 games for Nuss: 7 INT

Saying he’s an average QB is not throwing him under the bus. He’s just not that good. As of right now. Take up for him and support him. We all should. He’s the best we have right now and we have no choice but to roll on.

Exactly! Why does LSU coaching staffs continue to try to force QBs to run an offensive scheme that they’re not suited for? It’s maddening! Thru 8 games running an RPO offense I’m willing to bet that Nuss hasn’t pulled the ball more than 3 times.

Hopefully we can get it out of our systems (myself included) because he's all we've got this season.

It's not the gunslinger part, it is the fact that he is terrified and too chickenshit to pull the ball and run or scramble for a 1st when it is absolutely needed.

He'd rather run backwards and let someone else take the hit.

Completely different team with a much better run game

It is just the low intellect and overly emotional posters. Also, some don't like whitey.

In 2007 Flynn threw 21 TD and 11 Int and completed 56% of his passes for 2400 yards.

Nuss is 20 and 9 with 62% completion rate for 2600 yards.

So yeah, I’d say they are pretty comparable.
Flynn had an outstanding OL and a very good run game. He also knew he had one of the best defenses in all of college football. He didn’t have to press. Nuss does. That’s my whole point.

he’s not good enough to get us a natty lol. he had bad decision making 2 years ago as a rs freshman and he has bad decision making as a junior. he’s an average qb with a big arm. is what it is
