You're getting down voted to hell, but it's absolutely a concern even if it is just camp/practice. It's the same type of reports we heard a couple years ago with the DBs struggling to cover the WRs and people wanted to dismiss that because it was just practice. We all know how that turned out.

Now I do understand the thought process about putting too much into practice reports during this time of year, but when it's a consistent theme, it's certainly something that needs to be paid attention to. IMO, it's starting to seem as if it's more Sloan's system than our talent level/ability. I think we will play for a title if we can run the ball, so hopefully things get worked out and we can see this team at its full potential.

I wonder how preseason practices with Burrow and crew were in 2019.

I fully expect we looked like the best fricking college offense to take the field.

Everyone’s excited and devours the news, I get it. But it means nothing for the season, and never has

2019 says hello.

quote:
“I think we’re going to score a lot of points, and I don’t think a lot of people are used to LSU scoring 40, 50, 60 points a game," Burrow said via The Advocate at the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend. "I think if we do what we need to do up until fall camp and continue our hard work in fall camp, we can be one of the best offenses in the country.”

Get a grip. You are talikng about a once in a generation QB. Without Burrow in 2019 we might have went 7-5. Did you or anyone anywhere think during fall camp have a clue that we would go 15-0, win the Natty and Burrow would win the Heisman? Lastly Chase and Jefferson would not have had the year they did without JB. Yes to the other poster. Practice and inter squad scrimmages are for deciding the dept chart and game planning for the season not a true indication of how the season will go.

With a brand new o line and after seeing last years run game…I really hope I’m wrong but it’ll be our weak point. Hopefully Alex Atkins brings in some new juice to our run game design…we were the worst in the sec rushing last year

That's point of my post you dumbass. No one knew but all the reports from camp that year raved about how great the offense was particularly how good Burrow was.

Until Sloan proves he. An actually call effective running plays and play calls to open it up, no one should have faith that LSU will have any semblance of a decent, much less good, running game.

Defenses are usually ahead of offenses especially the offensive line.

That statistic also brings back nightmares of the plays that Sloan called inside of the 5 yard line year too ! Hope Kelly has addressed that.

Every play called is meant to score or at least gain a first down. So tell us your "effective" play calling experience. Tell us what it's like in the coaches post game evaluation meeting. Tell us how you evaluate game videos to decide what plays work or don't work based on the personnel you have.

Will wait for your experienced answer.

Gimmicky stuff will work fine against La Tech. Big, fast, athletic defenses will blow that up every time.
