We're not going to dock Brian Kelly too much for LSU's late-season fade with losses to Texas A&M and Georgia, because over the course of the season, his Tigers impressed. SEC West champions in Year 1? This is exactly why LSU wrote a blank check to Kelly to take over a program whose last national championship came in 2019. Kelly shook off a season-opening loss to Florida State, after which many national media members buried his potential, to win eight of his next nine prior to the Texas A&M setback. He even toppled Nick Saban last fall.

BK took LSU from barely fielding a roster in the bowl game to SEC championship. That was pretty damn impressive.

Anyone over Saban is laughable.
Good to see Kelly get respect.

Been a long time since we’ve had a nationally respected coach rather than a cartoon character

Putting Kirby at 1 makes this list look like a 4th grader from Macon made it.

And climbing...

CBK should be second. Whipped Saban's arse in his first year and has more experience than Dumbo and the Khaki Pants idiot. Overall CBK has more wins than any other active DIV1 coach @ 293.

The frick has harbaugh accomplished?

Sark at 25.
Ouch.
Georgia Tech not hiring Willie Fritz is one of the worst non-moves in recent memory. Apparently there were disagreements over staff salaries, etc.
It’s hard for me to think of a better coaching fit.

Come on. When Kirby whens 7 titles, I'll be inclined to believe he's topped Saban.

Swap Kelly and Dabo.
No. Dabo has won 2 NCs and played in 2 or 3 more NCCGs. He’s a huge douche, but his resume is 2nd only to Saban’s. I’d have him 3rd behind Kirby, though, who is currently better and probably just a year or 2 from eclipsing his overall resume.
Regardless, it’s those 3, then a petty huge drop off to 4th, which can be debated between Harbaugh, Kelly, and Riley. If BK gets us to the playoffs this year, I think that cements him at #4. Assuming Michigan or USC don’t win it.

4. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
As loathsome as he is, he does have the hardware. And don't forget Venables falling flat on his face in Norman
