Exactly why I say go get Vitello. He also did good things as the recruiting coordinator at Arky. I think he is the next great coach in the sport and he is a guy that you could realistically get.

What about former LSU All-American Blake Dean (2007-09)?
Currently in his 6th season at UNO.
The post-Katrina era has been tough on UNO sports.
Dean's overall record is 153-135-1. Pretty good considering the 6 years prior to Dean taking over they were a combined 67-238!
They are currently in 1st place in the Southland Conference.
Keep an eye on him.

No and nothing about Woodward’s past hirings shows he is going to go after a guy like Dean. I think you are more likely to see him throw an ungodly amount of money at O’Sullivan.

Neaux - Dude’s character is is irredeemable and how he handled situation with Manieri was abominable. Character is everything for long term success.

Given all the current “issues“ in the athletic department, I think it’s safe to say that Cannizzaro is out of contention.

They aren’t firing anyone, so who knows

This is the correct answer.

I feel like the baseball program is stagnant in the same way the football team was under Miles towards the end of his time.

Totally agree. I think CPM has reached a point of discontent and he no longers enjoys his work. And the results have been way below the LSU BASEBALL fan base expectations!

I just feel the University will let him make the call based on his tenure. Colleges don't aggressively fire baseball coaches, or at least that is my observation.

Plus Andy ratted out Chris Reid for a night out on the town, that hypocrite.

More than anything, I want a HC that loves to recruit.

Add in O'Sullivan and this should be the only list.

It's a joke that you and everyone else is wanting to put Andy cannizaro on the list.

Why would anyone downvote this. That was well done Lester.

When you have a quarter of a million posts..you’re gonna invariably make some enemies in the process. Don’t dwell on the votes.

Tadlock would be a HR. What he has done and done consistently at Texas Tech has been remarkable.

The problem...he's a Red Raider Alum.

The Texas Tech AD was one of the guys who voted against having a 3rd baseball coach. That doesn't sound like an AD who regards Baseball highly. I'm not saying Tadlock would leave but I bet he would listen. Who knows? LSU offers much more than Texas Tech in many ways.

Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. He had the unfortunate timing of pitching for the Astros the season before they got Clemens and Andy Pettitte.

I could see Dean rising up a level after this year and UNO hiring Cannizzaro to replace him

I don’t want Riser at LSU just yet but I think he’s one hell of a coach who is due a bigger job. He’s not ready for LSU but he deserves a better job than southeastern.

Pretty dumb opinion.
