2025 is the roster Brian Kelly imagined he would have when he came to LSU

Bad defensive hires set the defense back a couple of years. However, firing the entire staff at the end of 2023 and bringing in Blake Baker, Bo Davis and Raymond may prove to be pivotal for BK. 2024 was up and down but recruiting through HS and the portal was elite on both accounts. Now Kelly heads into 2025 with probably the most talented roster he's had in his entire coaching career.
Kelly came to LSU to compete for championships. in 2022, we flat out didn't have the depth, in 2023 the defense was historically bad, in 2024 the o-line underperformed in run blocking, and the defense despite improved simply didn't have playoff-caliber talent at key spots. 2025 is the first year in the BK era where they are no glaring holes. There is athleticism, talent, and depth at virtually every position. It's truly put up or shut up time for kelly in 2025 anything less than a playoff appearance is a gigantic failure.

At the end of the day it took BK until this offseason and losing Underwood to take the portal seriously. Will never understand why he didn’t but glad he finally did.

Our upperclassmen were a disappointment last year.

Honestly losing Underwood changed the program outside of just kelly. Our NIL collective was more motivated than ever to bring in more money. Getting outbidded for guys like Underwood was a wakeup call to the collective just as much as it was a wakeup call for kelly to take the portal as serious as HS recruiting

I wish we had gotten one more quality offensive tackle. I still think the offensive line is suspect even with the additions. The interior of the line should be improved but we still don’t have tackles to stand up against the Georgia’s of the world. And that’s the type of teams we will be competing against to win the SEC and/or national championship.

You looked at the safety position recently?

Bk will shite the bed again & lose to Clemson in the opener. Then he will go 8-4 or worse. What will your excuse be then? The team needs another year to gel?

WE have a lot of talent at tackle albeit young. Tyree adams is a lock to start at one of the tackle spots and will be a damn good player for us. Weston Davis was a 5 star and heading into year 2 he has a lot of talent and a high ceiling. Curne is also an elite prospect and can easily slid to tackle he's that freakish of an athlete. It isn't like the room is devoid of talent. There isn't a will campbell caliber tackle sitting in the portal anyways tbh The guys in our room have more upside than any tackle in the portal rn

I don’t think BK learned anything or changed his attitude towards the portal. I think LSU finally got its NIL act together, and so Kelly finally has the money he needs to go get guys now.

Cooley was good pickup. Behind him you have a top 60 2024 recuit in spears going into his 2nd year and you have a former 5 star going into year 3 finally playing his natural position in toviano. Also have bradford and Jhase thomas coming in. Cup isn't completely bare

I mean that’s great but we had 3 highly rated, veteran safeties this year and they all sucked. So until they prove it on the field, all of that stuff you said doesn’t really mean anything. I hope they all work out though.

For such a short statement, that was really hard to read.

Pretty sure he imagined better rosters

This is why I have begun to be concerned with the Safeties coach. The ones on the field were not good. The ones that subbed in did not make a lit of difference. And we dont seem to be attracting any prime prospects.

I just don't think Burns had much between the ears and Sage Ryan wasn't big or physical enough there to be what we needed. They were both major liabilities.
Give their replacements a full offseason as #1s and I'll panic then if we don't see improvement there.

Does your therapist know you’ve escaped from lockdown and broke into the computers again?

This sums up the problem. Nobody has figured out what the hell is going on in the Safety group.

I just got out of therapy. My therapist agrees that my hatred for bk is unhealthy but we are working on me getting to like the tesla driving Democrat. ??
