2010 was the best LSU secondary of all time hands down

Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne at CB. Eric Reid and Brandon Taylor at safety. Tyrann Mathieu at nickelback and various other roles. Tharold Simon and Ron Brooks as backups.

Craig Loston was on the team too as a back up. He wasn’t as good as the others, but ended up becoming a decent player eventually and getting onto an NFL roster for a short time. Unbelievable

Quite a collection of talent that Les Miles assembled

Loston and Russel Sheppard are cousins and both were 5* recruits...FWIW

Ron Brooks was the 6th DB on the field and played in the NFL.

And Tharold Simon owned an entire city.

I would love to see LSU's 2019 offense vs. that 2010 secondary. Damn that would be entertaining

He is possibly one of the most underrated players in DBU when people have these conversations.

2019 Offense would put up a lot of points still.

I really thought Taylor would make it in the NFL. He was an awesome safety.

Quite a collection of talent that Miles underperformed with, that can be assessed throughout his tenure at LSU though

I’m not worried about star ratings here. Loston was easily the least of all these guys as far as both talent and performance on the field are concerned, regardless of his star rating coming out of high school.

Only thing i remember about Loston was his refusal to wrap up. He would always go for a hit.

Edit: Apparently some of you can't read. So I restructured my sentence to make it easier for some to understand.

I guess you’re one of those people who considers everything a failure unless we win the national championship. We went 11-2 and won the cotton bowl. One of our only losses was a 24-17 loss to Cam Newton and Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Nobody was going to deny Auburn that year. They were a team of destiny.

I don’t think anyone until just now has ever considered Eunice a city.

That defense was incredible they abolsuteot didn’t underperform

Not let me lay on the 2010 Offense

Stevan Ridley
Jordan Jefferson
Terrance Tolicer
Reuben Randle

Tell me that 11-2 team Top 10 underachieved with that elite selection of Offensive skill players

Ron Brooks was one of my favorite tigers ever. 3 career picks all returned for TDs playing alongside Pat Pete, Claiborne, and Mathieu. Simon was a badass also.

Tharold Simon was absolutely torched in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl Against Clemson. DeAndre Hopkins: 13 catches for 191 and 2 TDs.

He picked off Johnny Football once.

Auburn definitely considers 2010 money well spent.

Well in his defense, Hopkins did turn out to be an all pro receiver in the NFL.

If you don’t win the national championship and consider the season a “success” because you won the cotton bowl - that’s complacency and shows you don’t have the fire and grit of a champion, a killer mentality

Ask Burrow Orgeron and Co if they would have considered the season a success having lost to Ou or Clemson

You are part of why LSU was mediocre for years
