Self at Kansas got a lifetime contract after he was caught doing way worse than Wade. Duke and others were caught trying to and directly paying Zion, those schools just told the NCAA to F off. Less than a year after Wade got fired NIL allowed paying players way more cash than Wade was never even proven to have paid.

Just get it clear, LSU fired Wade because Dale, Collis Temple and others from the old guard felt they were dissed and shut out by Wade after their boy Johnny got fired. They were feeding info and working with Dick Vitale on those articles, along with a few SEC schools that couldnt stand losing recruits to Wade.

The old guard got what they wanted and LSU and the fans suffer with embarrassingly awful play for 3 years now. Enjoy.

Don’t forget the money. Coaching salary, spending for recruiting, basketball personnel within the andmin and facility demands have evaporated since Wade left.

Does anyone actually remember that Javonte got cleared by the NCAA and continued to play?

Or did Pat Forde and Dickie V totally corrupt your minds?

The recording was nothing but media fodder to feed the idiots. The two players that were discussed weren’t Wade recruits, one was in the NBA before Wade got to LSU, the other was playing his last year at Kentucky when Wade was still a GA lol.

Do you remember the one dude that kept saying Wade was under FBI investigation?

Totally laughable the misinformation people believe. I promise you 99/100 posters railing on “wife’s checkbook” couldn’t tell you who got checks or when it happened.

Lol I do remember that. It’s comical what these dudes come up with. Remember the guy who kept saying we were a week away from canceling the 2022-23 season because we didn’t have enough players and that a coach told him that? The roster was finalized in June, almost 2 months earlier than the previous season lmao.

Because Will Wade was screwing things up for Vitale's blue-blood buddies.

Vitale can go F himself.

still a contingent here with the "shame he got caught saying what he said," narrative? Gtfoh. You look into any coach at any successful CBB program hard enough and you will strike gold. Woodward should have stuck with him especially knowing NIL was right around the corner and at the time, the NCAA was as powerless as ever. Media was talking about a show-cause ban from coaching for Wade lol. What did he end up sitting out 5 games at Mcneese or some dumb shite like that? Woody got cucked by the NCAA hard.

We don't need another over the hill coach who has peaked and is on the way down. We need a young coach like Wade was who has a belly full of fire and will do anything to win. We need a coach who can pass this fire on and ignite his team to play hard from the opening whistle. We need a coach who is flexible enough to design a system around his talent rather than forcing them to play "his" way. We need a good game coach who knows when to call his timeouts to cool another team down, who can make halftime adjustments and will be in the refs ear.

If Wade was willing to come back , I think he’d be the obvious choice but I highly doubt Woodward would go that route, he’d probably take a chance on another potentially up and comer.

Why would any true LSU fan hate Wade?

Except for the idiots that believe he's the only coach that cheats at recruiting (and they don't live in the real world), it makes zero sense to not want him back YESTERDAY!!!!

I'm sorry....you're right. Dick Vitale has been around CBB for decades and has never ever seen, nor has ever heard of, any under-the-table deals ever being made for players at the traditional power BB schools.
Only Will Wade has ever discussed ever getting players deals under-the-table.

He's the only one. Ever.
Calipari, Kryskewski, Pitino, Roy Williams....None of them ever did this.

Scott is an absolute coward. No other AD is scared of the ncaa. Multiple teams in our own conference told the ncaa to suck their ducks and nothing happened. Unc laughed at them over a worse issue.

As a kid/teenager, college basketball was my second favorite sport to watch behind college football. The whole farce involving Will Wade completely killed any interest I had in it, and I haven't watched a single college basketball game since the day I heard he got fired. What a corrupt, joke of a sport.

The only "up and comer" of note Woodward has hired is McMahon. That's not generally his MO. Every other hire, Mulkey, Johnson, Kelly has not been an "up and comer". That even dates back to A&M where he hired Jimbo, and Buzz Williams.

The reason he made such a hire for LSU basketball is not out of a desire to do so. It was because that is what the marketplace allowed. Contrary to popular belief it is RARE big time HCs voluntarily leave major programs where they are having great success to jump to one that isn't having success. Especially if the school looking to poach the coach is not exactly one of the most desirable jobs in the market.

LSU football and, especially, baseball, are two very highly in-demand jobs in those markets. LSU basketball isn't. Even if he wanted to, Woodward would struggle to "money whip" a name you guys would think is a championship pedigree coach. For LSU to get one of those guys it would take good timing to catch a fallen star. Just like what happened with Pearl, Sampson, Barnes, Beard, Pitino, even to some degree, Cal. All of those guys are at their current jobs after being pushed out of their former major conf. jobs for one reason or another. Usually scandal.

Wade is really the most obvious choice. Absent about 6 posters on this board who care more about their contrarian position being proven right than the success of LSU basketball, no fan would be upset to see him return. The boosters/donors, who are critical to success, still like him. And while he didn't reach the top of the mountain at LSU, he sustained success longer than any other HC in the past 30 years...and that was before going to a school no one outside of Louisiana knows exist and matching the largest single season turnaround in NCAA history.

If everyone can swallow their pride/ego, including Wade, there is a path for his return.

This. And worse. “Cash” in a text is bad but a cleared check is pretty bad

NIL is out of control now so hire him back!
