Coaching - I think Gary Patterson is a better X's and O's coach than Miles. Miles may have more accomplishments and recruiting successes, but he also has more to work with. As a raw coach, Patterson is better in my opinion. Plus he has no blunders on his record like Les Miles had against Ole Miss in 2009 or Tennessee in 2010 or the BCS title game in 2012.

Yet they lost 6 games last year to inferior opponents. But rt, Patterson is a better coach cus he beats wyoming on a yearly basis. What a crock of shite.

They don't too often get to see what they are about to see. By the 4th quarter, they will be beaten into submission.

this works when you're moving the chains. LSu's 3rd down conversion rate has to improve if they want to wear people out with the run.

This may be TCU's Super Bowl, but this is our statement game. Too many analysts have already written us off. I think we come out swinging, Virginia Tech Style.

I thought UNC would be a blowout when half the team was suspended or hurt. We have not blown out teams with a lot less talent than TCU in the past. I believe we win. Not sure about a blowout however. How often does TCU ever get blown out. Hope I'm wrong and we walk away with no injuries and a lot of depth getting playing time. But I see a good football game. Both teams will have had time to be ready. The only exception is I'm not sure how TCU gets ready for an offense they have not really seen yet. I guess they prepare for Cameron tendencies.

I kind of expect TCU to come out with a quick short passing game and then try to burn us deep for big plays.

A top ten and none of them have to do with the site being in your backyard.

Pachall is clearly going to start. Patterson sounds like he is losing it.

Only one I agree with.

To be fair, I think that thread was posted in response to an LSU fan that made the same exact thread.

part of why JFF was so good last year. No matter how good a D is they still have to play reactively to what the O is doing. Having a lack of information on what the O's identity and tendencies will be can be very dangerous.

4. Secondary true especially against a possibly underachieving Mett. This assumes TCU can shut down the run though.

Not against chavis. You guys are in for a rude awakening and seriously will see why you arent on the same level as LSU.

You have to be kidding about the secondary rt. Or should i just list the dbs from LSU playing in the NFL. You think just over night we stop recruiting the best athletes?

I would say 3 times last year to Okie State, Kansas State, and Iowa State.

we're gonna make em' prove they've seen an elite backfield.

very valid- see clemson. difference is, we haven't played bama yet so....

remember when we got beat over the head with this and tressel. and chip kelly...

quote:

. Secondary - TCU has a talented and experienced secondary and is probably the strongest unit TCU has on both sides of the ball.

valid

quote:

5. Run Defense - TCU has always been able to shut down opposing running attacks in the past. This will force LSU to have to win the game throwing the ball

maybe valid. we'll just have to see...

quote:

6. Past History - TCU has always thrived in the underdog role in games like this.

not our 1st rodeo son

quote:

7. Experience - TCU has more experience returning than LSU has especially when it comes to starters.

valid. wanna talk talent now?

quote:

8. Conditioning - I think TCU is the most conditioned team in the league each year. Just look at our past games in September when other teams had players dropping like flies in the 2nd half with cramps and exhaustion issues. Most notably Baylor in 2010.

moffit.

quote:

10. Prepartion - If there is a team out there that does a better job at preparing for opponents, I'd like to see it.

like preparing to spell? what's Miles' record vs reg season non conf opposition? what happened to UO, WVU, U dub, UNC, Arizona, etc. Especially in Sept.

no doubt TCU will be more of an oregon and WVU in caliber than washington and arizona but still..

i expect a close game. i expect LSU to win it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say this is our Super Bowl. Now, that's not to diminish the excitement and importance of this game as a statement, but I think y'all would agree that big conference games are much more important than OOC.

OSU, OU, and Texas games are huge this year as the Big XII seems fairly wide open, and those Oklahoma games are going to be extremely important as they are both away games. Those are also the 3 schools we're going head to head against as far as recruiting goes, so it's important to start winning those games.

That said, it's been 8 years since I was so excited about an opening game ('05 in Norman vs. OU), so I can't wait to fly back in a little under 2 weeks for the game.

Is it really so hard to believe that TCU may take LSU down to the wire?

I mean, we're 8 months removed from losing to a team from the ACC...
