On a pass play. You can’t do it….its like a pick or an illegal block…..

Only eligible players can go downfield on a pass play until the pass is thrown. You have to be an eligible receiver on the play.
It makes it fair for the defense in all honesty.

It creates a very distinct advantage for the offense bc the defense has to account for another player not designed in the coverage.
