A little. He had some throws that were off that shouldn’t have been. There were some drops as well.

Agree, we weren’t getting much separation early on…then we hit some intermediate throws in the second half that made me feel better about the situation.
Second string QB looked good too.

That INT should have been a reception

A little. He has a low release pt, side arm motion, which is gonna get you a some batted/tipped balls. And the ball is gonna sail on him now and then. His running is definitely his strength.

Passing lanes are going to change play to play. Not really something qb's get used to as much as making small adjustments to find them. Also, batted balls are going to happen. Good coaches emphasize it and practice it a lot.

No, this will get better with time and game reps.

Seemed timing was slightly off more than anything. Even the int was a bit behind the receiver.

He passed for over 100 yards in the 3rd quarter. Drops and getting timing down played a part not concerned at all

I thought Clark looked better. Sharper and more decisive.

How many dropped balls and how many tipped at the line? Those alone would help his numbers greatly.

A very minor concern but he looked great in the second half so I wasn’t too worried about it. The dude hasn’t played a live game in a very long time. Rust was expected.

Dropped and tipped balls a concern.
I maybe off base but Sam reminded me a little of burrow 2018 in his debut.
Not saying his story ends the same way (hopefully) but without looking at stats etc that’s what came to mind for me based on the performance.
All said What a dominate win by the tigers !!

He played hard and he won. What it looked like to me was a QB and receivers that had never played together. I expect the passing game to get better.

He didn't take 1 big hit

My only concern is him getting hurt

His ball placement was not perfect. He was good but not precise. That was about the only thing for the entire team that reminded me it was game one. Receivers and QB have to fine tune the passing game.

I think it will improve. I think Lane will focus on hime getting the ball out quicker and getting him to run less.
His accuracy will get better i think....i hope. The passing windows were pretty tight last night.
