Any Concerns about Leavitt's Pass Game?

But I will give hims first game jiiters. He was off in his passing and tried to force a few that should have been picked. He looks to be a good one if he can stay healthy.

Lane said after the game that was one of the focus areas for improvement though he did credit Leavitt for playing well overall.

Yes. Too early to panic just yet though. Ole Miss will tell us

My bigger concern is the dude won’t slide. He has 14 more games to play!

He will gel as the season progresses. I think our receivers dropped a decent amount of solid balls minus the interception throw.

No, this will get better with time and game reps.
He also hadn’t played in a long time since his injury. So feeling the game out and where DL are with pass lanes will come.
He took care of the ball, and his one INT was on a drop which Elzy should have caught.
Drops didn’t help him either tonight.
Will he be Joe Burrow? Idk probably not, but I think he will be good and get better.

Yep- Just hope he can stay healthy.

He seemed to settle in as the game progressed

I felt like the number of batted balls at the line was due to not being 100% used to his offensive line and the passing lanes they create. Plus, brand new everything, high energy environment, 2 hour weather delay, probably muggy as crap. I'm not going to sweat it all that much. I already feel 300% better about our QB situation than I did at any point the last 2 seasons.

Its not like he's short. Has a late release.

I don't know if the receivers weren't getting open, but he definitely seemed hesitant to throw at times.

He was 7 of 9 for 111 yards in second half with a td. He settled down and got better. First game in like 10 months as well. We should have expected some rust.

—He did slide, feet first. And you can’t score 2 TD’s sliding into the endzone.
With 600 yards of offense, I don’t care if he runs better than he throws as long as we dominate like that.

Honestly, the receivers dropped 3 catchable deep balls and his int was kind of a fluke. I think the way we ran the ball against Clemson is going to open up defenses a LOT.

A little worried but not concerned. This was Leavitt’s first live action since last October. If it doesn’t improve after film study, coaching up, etc then yes I will be a little concerned.

It’s was basically a pre-season game, the offense takes a few games to gel, relax.
And like others said, I like the dude’s ability to run the ball, but he needs to slide to protect himself.

nah. he hasn't played in a game in a while, coming back from injury. reminds me of brees first game against the browns coming back from being hurt, it was rough with some highlights. he'll be fine.

Forgot about his injury. Give it time, everyone.

Actually don't think his throws were awful. His decision making was good, and once he got a few jitters out he looked comfortable.
More worrisome to me was the receivers. I know we're spoiled because we're used to having first round NFL talent at WR, but these guys also aren't physically (other than Green at TE) comparable to the wideouts we've had in the last 20 years.
