My first thought was how many parents don't really look at the underlying issues, so there could be a negative there. But then again they also see how hard Kiffin and staff and the entire state of Louisiana fights for he players. They really like that.
Second thought is it never seemed to hurt Miami's recruiting back in the day. Players seem to like to play for a school that plays hard ball and with a swagger. That's LSU now.
