I am glad, and actually not overly surprised. I said I wouldn't be surprised, weeks ago, if he came back. It seemed like a logical possibility, but I had no inside knowledge and ultimately you never know. This is great news. He and Dawson Park should make a heck of a defensive middle infield which, as we know, is absolutely critical.

Park, from what I've seen, is a better defender, and I'd think Jay would want a strong double play tandem again. We'll see what happens, I guess.

How is the Florida kids glove? He’s been so injured I couldn’t find but one year of defensive stats under baseball reference in the cape cod league. Had .967 fielding % in 208 innings.

This past season he had a .994 fielding percentage with 1 error in 163 chances.
