It is always let’s get this guy or this guy instead of “let’s give this guy a chance to develop”… we live in an instant world now. Sometimes we should allow flowers to bloom where they are planted…

Most likely directed at fans. Basically saying fans arent willing to be patient and see our own develop. They always want something else. That’s how I interpreted it.

With that being said, give me Ricks and Amos lmao

Wait what? They already have 3 transfer DBs for this upcoming season.

Does that mean holding the roster together or having to process a few players?

Funny because I feel the same way. I see a lot of fans here obsessed over transfer guys while ignoring the HS guys recruited to the roster that aren't even being allowed to develop. Does LSU want the reputation of bringing transfer guys in to block the HS recruits brought on your roster?

You'll never develop a program culture with that. I think that's a big reason Saban is stepping out. He can't get the program culture he wants with 10-15 guys going out every year with 5-10 early draft entrants and then bringing in 30 new guys. Too much change year to year to set the tone of the program that's been so successful for his entire tenure.

You need continuity.

The best example is the people begging for a transfer QB to replace Nuss when Nuss hasn't done a single thing to prove he doesn't deserve a shot based on his abilities. They just want another Burrow/Daniels ready-made to go.

No school is ever going to live off transfer guys year to year and expect to be consistently successful. You'll kill your HS recruiting once they learn it's pointless to sign with you because you'll just bring in a transfer.

Nostradamus might be for you! I have followed some past links to Sherman Wilson's "prophesies" and he is full of CRYPTIC NONSENSE! I could get more useful information shaking a magic 8-ball. And before you say it, I will. Since I find his "information" a waste of human time, I will no longer follow ANY of the links to this Sphinx.

BTW, great ? about who Sherman Wilson is by the poster you responded to. The REAL answer is a NOBODY of note as far as recruiting info goes!

Yeah he’s only on staff and involved in recruiting. But I’m sure he doesn’t know anything.

That’s fine Sherm when you have guys ready to go at every position you can develop depth. When you need immediate help you do what you gotta do.

I did NOT say he didn't know anything. I said he dispensed no useful information. You know right that anyone associated with LSU can NOT comment on recruiting until signatures occur...it is an NCAA violation. All he does is once again give cryptic information hinting at some future verbal. Big fricking deal! Anyone can say that!

I have been reading threads on the recruiting board for years, and I don’t know who Sherman Wilson is.

He’s on staff and an important piece in recruiting for LSU.
His message are cryptic because it’s not his position to post a kid’s intentions.
Much like Kelly and Johnson and every other coach doesn’t post the kid’s news, they leave it to the kid’s.
His posts are always positive. I’m not sure what your anger is with him, but it’s not warranted.

I agree. It's becoming clear why many of our recruiting junkies follow his tweets so religiously. He's just like us. Spews every random thought that comes in his head on a public platform with no regards to his own hypocrisy. And he actually posts nothing of substance. Just tweets for us to go in 100 different directions with trying to decipher them. As you said, any of us could do that. Many do. Myself included.

Nope. The main reason Saban is stepping down is because he is 72 and tired. If you don’t understand that, then you can’t be older than, say 55. I’m 61 and tapering off. I have arthritis in various joints and every time I stand up I require 30 seconds before I walk like a normal man. And I am a top 1 or 2% type who works out almost every day. And Saban is 11 years OLDER than me. Sometimes the simple answer is the correct one, Occam.

I know why his posts are cryptic which is exactly what I said in my posts. What I said was he dispenses no useful information which is 100% true! Also, the reference to Nostradamus was how people INTERPRET anything he says the way they want to. I did not question his character, honesty, etc. I said that his statements are basically a waste of time to read.

But hey, if "Boom coming" or whatever butters your bread, then have at it. BTW, "leaving it to the kids" is the minor part. Once again, as I'm sure you know, anyone officially associated with a university can't comment on any recruit until he officially signs. They can't even mention prospects visiting, etc. The kids are of course the ones publishing the coaches in-home visits photos, etc.
