I promise you I'm not looking for a "gotcha" moment or anything, but even this says, "expected to commit". Not a done deal yet, so my streamers and confetti will stay loaded.

Keep doing what you're doing friend. I appreciate the information and enthusiasm.

And $7 million??? Holy cow!! Hope he's worth that price tag.

La Repubblica appears to be a legit news outlet, but it appears all the social media posts are based on the one La Repubblica story. This has a bit of the PJ Haggerty to LSU "BOOM" cycle feel to it. Especially, given how public all the details are when everything NIL is being held so closely by schools.

With that said, I've seen enough to think that Niang to LSU has been done for a bit now.

Virtus Bologna still hasn't finished their season, so that could be the reason neither side are putting out a firm press release. They have a game this coming Sunday, and another on the 10th.

If this is true, like I've said earlier, it's going to be VERY interesting how the rest of this roster fills out.

Kid is a very solid prospect, but isn't 7 million what was reported BYU gave Dybantsa? He's nowhere near that level of talent.

Maybe we are prepared to spend 20mil on a roster

So the only reason I am 95% confident is, and again not hedging or hoping. This isn’t a school it’s a pro club. For any of these 4 guys, will continue to reiterate, money will be held in escrow until they are physically stateside on LSUs campus. But the 5 stakeholders that matter were able to come to a deal, paper it. He is still playing in the season, again this has never happened so is there physical, we are more on paper the minor league team of Cavaliers. In a message somebody made a good point I don’t see why the Cavs if they draft another EuroStash in the second round couldn’t just let us at LSU sign him and play for us then send him to Cleveland next year.

Update guys, so Niang would be eligible to play up to 2 years with LSU with the Cavs not having to do anything. The actual amount that LSU will pay is $4.5 million and they will get $600k back if he goes he is called up in the next two years in any way to the Cavs. So the $7,000,000 is the total amount of money being moved around. It did take 3 or 4 wires.

Fernandez the Argentinian playing could be announced by 3pm our time that it is agreed upon. He only has one more month to play as his squad is not eligible for their domestic championship playoffs, EuroCup or Euroleague. Number coming in at $2.3 million.

Easily the fastest way to turn the program around. Relying on a bunch of kids who are trying to learn to play the college game in year one of the rebuild was always the gamble. If most of these kids are going to leave due to the draft or NIL anyways, pay players who already know how to play to come in and make an impact in day 1. Well done Wade. Can't wait to see what the final roster looks like when it's all said and done.

7 million dollars for 1 player. He seems really good don't get me wrong, but 7 mill good. I guess I'm just trying to wrap my head around it. It's not my money I guess, but good lawd....

HS 26’ recruit Alex Costanza out of Spire Prep a 6’8 rangey wing and # 40 overall HS recruit is on commitment watch. Will probably be tomorrow at 1pm.

The use of the term "commitment" was a total farce anyway. It got to the point kids were "committed" but still "taking visits". That's like saying I'm married...but still going out on dates with other women.

At least "agreed to terms" is more accurate

Decommitted from Georgetown. Visited NC State during his recruitment. So, there was already a Wade connection there when he decommitted from Georgetown.

yea. Nothing at all is official. Nothing is worth celebrating. A lot of work left to do with this one.

OP victory lapping way too soon.

Not in any way bragging or trying to say I know every detail. CWW and staff were already going big game hunting. But in the last hour, they are pivoting again and about to just add to the plan I outlined yesterday. Reason I put this not to say anything to the people that “doubted” nobody really did. But in the post below. LSU is going to move extremely fast. I am under the age of 35.

No offense, but you do read a little like AI. Pretty good as a tool, but that is barely English. Also not sure why you quoted everyone when no one doubted the info.
