Tiger faithful the first domino has officially fallen. Want to first thank the recruiting board. We had it here first before every local, national or international news knew what happened this morning. Niang was a Second round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers last year in the NBA draft. He is an absolute stud, athletic do it all player. At the college level he can guard all 5 positions. He is not the most willing shooter, but shoots a decent percentage. As he began to lift weights this last year, and now plays full time on the big club he is starting to come into his own. Fluid ball handler that was taught the European way from start to finish. When he drives in the open court or off long euro screens he is a straight glider to the rim or his spot. But is a terrific defender already with a huge amount of potential. He will tear up american courts in steals and blocks because of the configuration. An extremely unselfish player, how most of them that start at 12 and 13 years old are. I am not bragging in any way but for all those that messaged me on here and believed or wanted to believe when I posted at 8:32 am yesterday that LSU and Will Wade were on the move. Will post yesterdays interactions from the big thread.

To the P&GI don’t post as much as I would like to but LSU MBB has always been my favorite of the LSU sports. Yesterday I did not want to just drop in with sauces and try and say what CWW and staff had been up to for two weeks. I found out 4 days ago. Shoutout to our staff, there is not a single staff that is smaller than ours in America. Of the 1700 men’s college basketball teams. From D1-3, NAIA, JUCO. Right now they have 6 people in total. This doesn’t vindicate or change what happened to Wade’s first.m stint ending here. But as a lifelong Tiger fan can proudly say this is pretty special. Okay maybe LSU basketball is sometimes looked at as the 3rd, and these last 4 years even the 5th sport at LSU in terms of fan interest. But LSU basketball just sent up a warning shot to every college basketball team, we are here now. Making history is cool, this will change college basketball probably forever.

But what’s cool is, to Kentucky and their coach and contingent that went over in their jet to Israel and then Italy and came back empty handed.

To the 3 big money schools (Arky, BYU, St. John’s) that flew over or tried to swoop in over the past week but came away with nothing.

To BYU and their little group, you bought a cute little first round exit this past year for $22 million, oh you have the #1 pick, means nothing to us. It doesn’t matter how much money you can collect at your services or if you brought Joseph Smith and Brigham Young reincarnated with you the next time. You can

To Calipari and all of the Chicken people and Great Value assholes that give you an unlimited NIL budget, you lost again Cal, to Wade. :doublebird:

Lastly to every national cbb reporter that had an opinion about Wade and LSU when he got fired. Or had an opinion about LSU rehiring him. Write some more copy, cry more, just remember all the blue bloods you suck off so you can take a picture with the coaches and say you knew them. Then go and say LSU has to do this and it’s shameful, Wade is a cheater. Whatever you write or say, just make sure you lead or finish with, yet upon Wades return to LSU, he and the LSU Tigers did what no coach had ever been able to do and what many thought would be impossible. And :doublebird:

This is from the big thread I started yesterday when I found out all of this was going down. As I gather which of the next 3 or 4 guys they get. Will post in here. Don’t mind doing it for the RB.
Not in any way bragging or trying to say I know every detail. CWW and staff were already going big game hunting. But in the last hour, they are pivoting again and about to just add to the plan I outlined yesterday. Reason I put this not to say anything to the people that “doubted” nobody really did. But in the post below. LSU is going to move extremely fast. I am under the age of 35. This is the most joy I have had thinking about LSUs place in the college basketball world since we made it to the Final Four in 05’

Rumored to be asking for $5 million which is not true. 85% chance if he comes over and plays in college it’s LSU (Kentucky fighting, Mark Pope actually flew over there ??) But I would say it’s 65% he does come over and plays at LSU. He has to have a buyout with his parent club and make a potentially career changing decision.
Interested to see if tomorrow Niang or Fernandez and their clubs will deal and if we pick up anybody.
When some of these dominoes fall the rest would have fallen we do have 3 silent commits besides in my opinion Graves is a commit if he doesn’t go to the NBA.

Some of this info is promising, but as OP, not all of this will happen & there is some risk involved.
At the end of the day there are no other recruits committed & given the timing, you lack true backup plans if some of these bigger pieces fall through. There simply isn’t enough good players to make up a tournament team, at that point.

Yep sorry guys for the long responses. Just I will be as honest and blunt as possible. If Will is able to pull off just two of the 6 I listed. Let alone if he gets his hands on 3 or 4. This team will be loaded, as in with no hyperbole would say.

Niang is a done deal to LSU if actually is serious about coming over to the states they got him for a steal probably $2-3 million less than asking or market value.

Shea doesnt know shite in regards to Wade's recruiting. He and all other paid sites got embarrassed today by this post.

Maybe. Also could juts be the difference between and actual credentialed reporter and a message board guy with a source. The message board guy can anonymously report whatever he hears without worrying about being correct or burning bridges. A guy who reports for a living has to protect his sources and has to vet what they say.

It’s also possible this thread is a bunch of BS and we are all getting trolled. I don’t think that’s the case but it very well could be. Anything Shea shares is legitimate and there is no chance you are getting trolled.

coach, is trying to set up in some way wiring a bunch of money in escrow to the Canary Islands, then get the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign off on it, and have the player agree in writing to pay the difference in the NIL and any future NBA contract they might sign, oh and one of the fours head coach is basically his quasi agent and wants to be paid, let alone the coaches and players on these guys teams are probably breathing down their necks in the middle of their playoffs which over there count because of the bonuses for a large part of their pay.

I will say not hedging in any way or guaranteeing it’s a risk, one I would take, I would put the odds we get 1 of these 5 foreigners if you include Walker at 25%, getting two I would put right now today at 10% and anything after that %5. Odds would rise dramatically if just one jumps ship for the first time in CBB this way.

What I am saying is in 3 of the 4 true foreign players we are in we are either the only horse left in the race or so far ahead of the one or two other teams in what it takes to get them over. So for say Fernandez, I would again put it at 40% we get him right now, as in 40% he ends up a Tiger playing in the PMAC. 90% chance though he either ends up being a Tiger or does not pay in college for anyone in the states next year. What I am saying just getting one these four would be huge, each alone would have been the number one player in the transfer portal alone if each individually was transferring and just in the portal but with the same age, experience, athleticism and advanced skills.

It reads a little like AI.

I do think that Wade will pull in a few top players (($12 - $14 million will do that) but I am not sure of a plan beyond that, at least not the one laid out in this thread.

I’m having a hard time reading some of this but I guess I’ll get down with what Coast is saying.

Seems like the story changed as the posts kept getting posted and so long winded. But maybe he’s just excited to share.

It’s never really ever been done by a college team, going after this level of foreign talent at once.
LSU is now the favorite for all of them. But all have problems or issues that have to be fixed to even get to the part where you cut a check to 3 or 4 people to get them here for the fall.
So LSU is in a holding pattern but working through the night to get these deals done if we can just get one we will be off to the races. Because of the talent/playing minutes, money, and time it will take to get even one, the college transfer portal guys are waiting also.

I really had no clue the LSU staff was trying this until 4 days ago. It’s beyond crazy. But when Wade said we are going to win and win immediately. His first year he had a “winning”record after his lead assistant now the previous year had bottomed out LSU. If they can get some, one, or all of these guys, I would wager you are looking at an Elite 8 or Sweet 16 team with just a few.

LSU will push extremely hard to get either Fernandez or Santo on board by tonight. If we get those two with Niang would be happy. I personally am cooling on Kyree Walker. And yes once the foreigners either commit/sign/or LSU drops out of the race because they can’t come to a deal. You will see the silent commits from colleges come in a flurry.

Marco Santo is my current favorite player on the board

Single Game 2 Min Highlights

Long Highlights from EuroCup

So it's "close to done", not done. Hope the ink dries soon and we lock him in.

Really not trying to be negative or contrarian here, I just like all my ducks in a row before I celebrate.

Couldn't have said this any better. I am old enough to remember Marcus Freeman being at the 1 yard line for DC.

If we can close by saturday night the two big fish left would push Dioubate out of the lineup. But this team will be as close to positionless outside of the primary ball handler.
