The ranking is because the service is low on Louisiana prospects. Lower than any year ever. It’s an outlier year and indicates that the LSU class is very undervalued.

But for real great example of players that isn't rated properly is Caden. He just ran for 200 yd at halftime at Championship game. They have him rated as low 4 star. I would not put much wait into 247 or On3. He has pull away track speed but 247 has him ranked as 15 best back in class.
JuJu should be ranked higher also. Davhon Keys is a beast he should be ranked higher I can keep going on. These sites are going to be off.

Looking at class ranking with the transfer portal when players have the ability to leave after 1 season is just dumb now. Judge a class after it’s been on campus for at least 3 years before you make assumptions. Check out those great 2020 & 2021 top 5 classes how are they holding up?

No, but you shouldn’t automatically dismiss a kid because of that rating if the staff sees potential in them, even if that means they start off as a PWO. For example, Josh Williams was a 2 star, too. Would you take any of our backs recruited from 2019 to 2021 over him today? He may not be a star, but he’s a valuable contributor. Similar to Hester, he overcomes a lack of pure talent with toughness, effort and versatility. You need players like this to build depth that doesn’t hit the portal at the first opportunity.
