I don’t know who you are, but I already don’t like you
We have players next year to bring in a top class and you make a thread like this. Pathetic.

Maybe this take held water 5 years ago but in today's portal age it doesn't one bit.

Not a Louisiana Saturday night for this guy. Man go play miniature golf if you can't get a date.

Go to On3, and they have a great NIL breakdown by player. As they have said, it is an estimate of what the player believes their value to be based on information they are provided. That is what that number represents.

As for your statement about LSU not pumping out money, you are correct. And, that is part of the issue. Schools like aTm, Texas, Bama, Georgia, and others at the very top, have collectives that are associated with the schools themselves, in essence daring the NCAA to do something to them. If the NCAA were to do so, they are prepared to go to court and challenge if need be. Or, in the case of the SEC (and possibly even Big 10), they pull away from the NCAA altogether and form their own competitive league, which has already proven to be much more dominant and lucrative to the NCAA than the NCAA is to the SEC. It's like a big game of chicken right now. All you have to do is look at what just happened this past week with the ruling in the courts on the transfer portal restrictions the NCAA was trying to reimpose. When the courts put the TRO on them, they threw a fit for a second, then folded like a wet suit. I think LSU wants to go all in like Bama, Georgia, and others. The boosters and the school, like most other programs, have just been playing it safe just in case for now. Remember, we are only in the 2nd year of NIL. As I mentioned, Livvy, Jayden, and Angel have shown you can be successful in the NIL world. Malik is just outside the Top 50. On that list, go see how many high schoolers are on it. That is what's scary. Wait til they start paying 8th graders.

#12 class does not cut it

One line in and you’re proven wrong. First off, this class is around #6 right now on ON3 and second off, the 2018 class was ranked #15. Seems like that one played a big part in LSU’s best team they’ve ever fielded one year later.

RB and 2 LB from Texas are 5 star. They don’t rate them as that. Green is 5 star. Our kids are rated too low.

Same amount of 4 stars. but LSU has seven additional 3 star commitments. This illustrates the over importance that these sites ascribe to 5 star players. 1 5 star = 8 3 star players. No. One 5 star may very well hold down a single position out of 11, whereas the 8 players provide more depth of field.

The rankings only account for the top 17 recruits in a class.

Do me a favor, please go through LSU’s commit list and tell me which prospects don't belong at LSU and why. I'll bookmark the post and we’ll revisit it in three years.

Yet the team score moves with the addition of each commitment, even after 17 commitments.

TL/DR version: Take the earlier versions of the rankings with a grain of salt and the same can be said for the final updates. The correlation between team rankings and on-field performance is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy as the final updates to rankings more closely correlate to the coaches evaluations and the individual player's offer sheet. That is why you see the "Bama Bump", yes - the "LSU Bump", the "Ohio State Bump", oh hell, the "Power 5 Bump".

Thank you for your service in completely destroying the OP with facts.

Some of the same should happen this year. We already have 1 5 star on On3 when you look at their rankings. It will be a crime if Green doesn’t get one before the last update comes out. Our On3 guys all are pushing that and think he deserves it. I also expect a few of our underrated 3 stars to get a bump up to 4. But like you said- the only thing this indicates is the weakness of the system at evaluating ALL players, not how good the players are. Atkins and Keys being 3 stars on one service or the other is a great example of this. Anyone who watches them play will scratch their heads on that one.

Bro the transfer portal has changed everything. Truly filling positions of need is going to put any top 15 team in a great position. Had we swapped our transfers for Florida st. We would be playing for a national title. We picked the wrong guys. I’ve seen top 3 classes not have but one or two starters on the team three years later. I’d let the final rankings come out. Reliford was way better than Mckinnley, The TE Green is an absolute five star. Lbers out of Texas look like absolute studs. Cobbins is a top 150 guy period. It’s a really good underrated class that should move up dramatically.

I wonder how many 4 and 5 stars A&M had this year?
