I remember he was one of many players listed as a "steal from the MLB draft" due to his SR HS injury. You like him more than I did. 9.20 ERA in 27 IP, 40 K which is great, 27 BB which is hideous. A pitcher can't win giving up 1 BB per IP. The word "potential" is becoming one of my least favorite words in sports. I don't give a damn about "potential". I give a damn about another word that starts with "p"...that word is performance. He simply was a poor performer. MAYBE he will improve or maybe he won't. This season he flat out proved he wasn't ready for prime time.

I said that every school tampers, which is true. I didn’t bring up LSU. But if you want to dig into it we can. Last year the portal “closed” on July 1st. Zach Yorke entered the portal on June 29th. Trent Caraway entered the portal on June 30th. Santiago Garcia entered the portal on June 23rd. Do you think there is any chance that LSU has tried to convince a kid to get in the portal within the past 5 days?

It may not be that simple. He may be looking for an opportunity to start more and with all 3 of ours from this year returning plus what we’ve brought in, that’s very unlikely.

I'm wondering what we're doing here and if we're still targeting pitchers. We only brought in 1 so far and he's a big potential one himself but we need more proven lefties. You can't just rely on the freshman arms coming in. And now you lose someone who was probably going to be heavy in your rotation. We need more pitchers out of the portal.

We’re still looking at HS guys for the 2026 class too. At least a couple late pop up guys. One that was committed to a JUCO in Texas but recently started touching triple digits.

We should have Thomas Allen news real soon. I think he has 2 SEC offers other than LSU to consider but he should be making a decision soon.
