nobody processes their sunday starter. I dont care what the injury situation was

I don’t think he was processed FWIW. But Sunday starter? He was Sunday starter solely due to injury in which all 3 of those guys that were actually starters are returning. Chances are he was not a Sunday starter. Good potential though.

No one knows.

Tons of potential. Had a pretty poor freshman year - but he was coming off of TJ his senior year of HS.

He might be back to his pre TJ form and ready to have a break out year at UGA and end up a 1st round pick in 2 years. He's got the potential. He might never get back there (See Jaden Noot) and be a JAG. Can't really say anymore than that until fall scrimmages start.

PP, if this whole thing was orchestrated by Cain, why has Paz not committed to A&M and still considering other schools, including tho e school that Cain just left?

Considering what's been rumored here, it would not at all shock me if once he got in the portal, Cain and co. realized they couldn't take him anymore.

Not really sure why you're so hellbent on defending Cain in this thread. Pretty odd.

Rumor is the Texas schools didn't have a clear path to a weekend starter's role for him. He's taking what he at least assumes is the easier route to that at GA.

He's got lots of potential. Will be curious to see what Wes can do with him.

Yep UGA lost their entire weekend rotation and Top 5 pitchers overall in terms of IP form this year. Things are very wide open to a starting role there...assuming he actually improves a lot.

Their portal haul at pitcher this year looks nothing like it was last year; so there will be opportunity there for him. UGA hit on every single top pitcher they took in the portal this past year, and there were a lot of highly rated ones. They dont have that same kind of haul this year.

LSU's bullpen is going to have a lot of questions to fill this year. Starters on paper look good maybe even day 3 guy and possibly even a 4th guy. Bullpen though? You losing tons of experience here. Cowan, Sheerin, Guidry, etc.

I have no connection to Cain. I just think it’s funny to point out when people bash others and make claims without any substantial proof. LSU is always the victim and everyone else is in the wrong.

So you think Cain told him he had a spot and to wait until the last minute to enter the portal, then immediately after he entered the portal Cain told him he no longer had a spot?

The potential is 100% there. The competitiveness seems to be lacking which is a shame for a talent like Paz

Waited for the draft and realized they had more than they thought they would

I dont think anyone is shedding a tear for losing Guidry at this point, he got absolutely crushed last season and had a 9.00 ERA in SEC play.

The losses from the pen are Cowan, Sheerin, Fontenot (people underrate this loss, but he was solid in SEC play) and Garcia

Everyone else who left either sucked or didnt really pitch in high leverage situations much at all.

With respect to Cowan, Sheerin, Fontenot and Garcia, if we cant replace their production with the amount of quality arms we have this upcoming season, Yeskie will have somehow done an even worse job than he did this year. The portal haul of Velazquez and Hood alone should make up for most of their innings and are high quality arms. This isnt assuming anywhere else on the roster gets any better from last year (Williams, Lachenmayer, Ricken, Theophilus, Plog) which someone definitely should and the plethora of freshman arms we just got.
