Montero is a definite no, willl be staying overseas confirmed. I think Graves 70-30 stays in the NBA draft, if he doesn’t it will be LSU. I don’t think Burks is a pipe dream more so with the money being thrown out and the overseas guys. I can say it wouldn’t mind getting him and spending the $500k-750k if just one of the Euros doesn’t come over they are thin thin.
There is a huge name LSU has been in contact with that is playing overseas and would come to LSU if the draft doesn’t go the way it’s expected.
Really hoping that is the plan going forward, huge credit to Johnny Jones busted his behind on the 27’ guys think we are in very good shape to get potentially 3 Top-30 hs players, add that with the holdovers from this years team plus next years portal really think it’s the best you can hope for in this era of any kind of long term outlook.

So hopefully LSU lands Hampton, and Spears in the 27 class, and sets up for another elite team after next year.

Media tears are going to be delicious.

Do our old fogey fans approve of Dessert and Niang? Or are they just disgusted with how WW is building this roster and think LSU is the only school taking advantage of loopholes?

CBC doesn't have any scoop here, this account is just reposting what has been reported here for a while now. However, this part is correct:
Niang and Dessert both need NCAA waivers to play next season. Wade will either have a top team or will be left holding the bag

I definitely approve of Dessert and Niang.

Niang shouldn't have problems he's not 30 years old, but who knows.
Did we ever determine if Dessert had eligibility issues previously?

Where do we stand with 5th year seniors. I know that needs to be passed and the talk was no one grandfathered in. But I would Imagine someone would challenge it in the court.
Are we still looking at any of those guys. Or did we give up on that idea

By all accounts, Niang should get a waiver.

Kansas tried to bring him over last season, but they didn't think he could get cleared, and they moved on.

Get Gordon must have a secret international green card sector of the business and we are taking advantage

Get Gordon is small potatoes compared to the legit donors

If everyone gets eligible and Graves leaves the draft and shows up on campus, then this roster could easily be north of $25 million. Likely, the most expensive college basketball roster ever assembled.

Good. I’m ready for some wins again. The last four seasons were pure agony.

I think people need to pump the brakes on Graves. I think it's pretty clear he's going to stay in the draft. I hope he does come, but his comments say otherwise.

Would be the biggest get of the entire portal! Sergio de Larrea 6’6 PG who plays for Valencia in the Euroleague and Liga ACB (Spanish Top League) has not only been in contact with Wade and staff but his parents really like the idea if he is a second round pick coming over to the states for some college ball. He almost came over to play college 2 years ago, but is in the upcoming draft and is rated as high as 20th on some boards. 20 years old, true point guard that would be an All-SEC caliber player day one. Unlike many, both of his parents played collegiate basketball in Europe as did he while also being a part of the youth development system with his pro club.

I tend to agree. I could also see Luis, Dessert, and Madar not being on next season's roster as well. That's a wide range of roster possibilities, from a potential NC roster to a roster that could struggle in the SEC.

Another name? Clearly, Wade knows all these guys won't be eligible. Even if you think the money is unlimited, starting spots and minutes are limited.

I think Dessert is pretty much a lock of the international bunch him and Santos. I do agree wide range, but agree with the risk reward strategy the staff chose to go with. With a completely gutted roster I don’t think you could have put together as viable or competitive team with this years transfer portal class being what it was. Would have had to pay 2X, 3X, 4X multiples right out of the gate on 6-7 of the top portal guys to build it that way, even then I think this years crop is lacking compared to most. For instance NC State probably paid 2X what LSU was going to pay to bring McNeil back to NC State. LSU paid half for a very comparable player in Bashir in terms of impact.
