I’m not sure he’s good enough for the bench. I don’t know what happened to this guy. I watched his 2022 highlights with Arizona State, and he looked like he would be a good player.

Former Top 100 recruit. Maybe Wade can get something out of him?

He is plenty good enough for the end of the bench.

Wade said he is only paying up to about 9 players this cycle, the last 5-6 guys on the bench will not be paid (or paid any significant amount at least). He intends to really routinely play 7-8 guys in his rotation and the 9th guy is there for some insurance but will also probably play somewhat regularly (more so if an injury to someone).

The rest of the bench, which will include this guy, is just there to chew up minutes in blowouts and give us a practice squad. This guy is a 5th year senior with tons of D1 experience and still averaged 10 ppg/3ast last season at UTSA even if he was highly inefficient. That's a great asset to have that you will never rely on. He will also be turning 24 during this season which kind of fits the theme with this team a bit.

His tape didn't look too bad. Pretty athletic guard. Probably could give you decent minutes in a pinch or if someone got banged up.

But he's ideally our #10 or #11 type player on the roster.

Nice fit and you are spot on. Hoping by the end of Euroleague/NBA draft we can get some clarity on the the full roster. I think Hampton reclassifies and is a Tiger. So this roster should shape up nicely for the first year. Stacked 2027 high school basketball class add 2-3 of those guys, a couple of holdovers, and the portal could be rocking soon.

Im a big WW fan but I kind of agree. I don't have a problem with trying to grab a couple of nice pieces like Dessert and Niang. And if you could Montero. But I don't see the point of grabbing players like Madar and Santos.

I like the Santos pick up as he gives you a lot of versatility offensively. You can play him as a stretch 4 that hit 3's. Or play him at 5 when LSU goes small.

I agree about Madar; but PG is an absolute NEED right now.

Think Divine from Michigan State will fill in that role as a primary ball handler.

RJ Luis is public now. He was the Boot Up tweet from a few weeks back. All that is left is Graves and possibly another guard plus end of bench guys.

Do they have is eligibility figured out? He seems like a case that would get shut down.

Great player though hopefully he gets to play.

I have not asked but I assume so. He has been a silent commit for a while now so now that it is going public it leads me to believe they got it figured out

Isn’t his case very similar to the bama guy last year? I think it’s one of the few things the NCAA can enforce

Also talked to someone, we are out on Montero and he is not coming to play college ball at all.

Yea I think the major difference (not sure it will matter) is while RJ signed he never actually played in a game.

Bediako played in like 40 games

The bama kid signed a two way contract and played. The St John’s kid never played.
