I think so. Last year of his deal with Hapoel. He is a versatile guard which fits. You have Divine from Michigan State, depending on if RJ Hampton reclassifies or not, you still need another guard or ball handler in the 8-9 paid players.

In my mind he might be more of a backup option if others fall through

I am on the same page here, he is at best a rotational guy looks like to me. He will be turning 26 during the season

Plays on same Israeli team as Antonio Blakeney (Blakeney is a good bit better)...who turns 30 this year to make us all feel really old

That's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I was convinced when he got drafted by the Celtics he'd be a steal and a solid player in the NBA.

To be expected.

Sources of players:
1- Portal
2- High school
3- International
4- Laying groundwork with potential 5-in-5 seniors in case they become eligible under new rule

Wade is seemingly going the int’l route first, he’s laid groundwork with some 5-in-5 options and he’s supplementing from the portal and potentially 1-2 HS kids.

The int’l options haven’t all been announced for reasons mentioned (season ongoing, etc), so the ranking makes sense but doesn’t include context. So Shooty Hoops rankings on 5/8 are Poopy, they are worthless.

Does Blakeney have any eligibility left?

Wouldn’t mind Hampton jumping in this class instead of 27’. Besides CWW doing the exact opposite of CMM, which not to hate on the guy would seem like a good basis point for any coach in power conference college basketball starting out.

Wondering though, no matter what happens with this class and next year. The 27’ is loaded with high level guys, and LSU is in on or has connections with quite a few, not even counting Marcus Spears Jr who I think is a heavy Texas lean. How does that factor in now and in the future.

Will still stand by even if CWW doesn’t get anymore high level players or this doesn’t go exactly according to plan and they just filled out the remaining spots with anyone. I could live with that disappointing outcome for one year more than the entire miserable 4 years of what CMM tried to do in recruiting/portal. Still unfathomable that 3/4 years they had the same strategy and either finished second to last or dead last in the SEC, and never changed. Then doubled down and overpaid for that roster construction. His most inexpensive or I guess “cheapest” team was his only semi respectable one in year 2 and lo and behold it was a completely different strategy.

Divine from Michigan State and Mo from Kentucky our only current U.S. college transfer commits are better than any two from the entirety of the CMM tenure. (Collins is a comp, but Mo is better. Cam Carter was a good add and good player just criminal to trot him out there with that lineup. Dedan Thomas is a good player, but with the roster they had and it being the SEC. You had Dedan Thomas and Max McKinnon for a year, Cam Carter and Jordan Sears for another, and in another a choice of at a time between Trae Hannibal, Justice Hill, and Cam Hayes.

I think had Blakeny stayed at lsu for 3 years, he may be in the league still. He had some real skill but should have never left school early

Idk even if he could have stayed 7 years in college if that would have helped his case for sticking in the NBA.

I'm very happy Wade returned, and I agree whole-heartedly on the McMahon tenure. However, Wade shouldn't get a pass this season if his plan doesn't work. Obviously, that doesn't mean he should be fired. But he shouldn't be above criticism either...even if LSU is better than they have been over the last 4 years, which is a VERY low bar for "success."

Good, even great teams can be built in the course of one offseason. That is the standard now. While I have all the confidence Wade will have a good team/season next year, if he doesn't he should take heat for it...just like McMahon should have and did for 4 years. This isn't 2018 anymore.

Have we heard anything on Jordan Burks? Are we still in the running for him?

I like the guys we got but we need some guys that can score. Think he and Bashir can help with that.

He’s in decision mode. Should be hearing about him any day now. Not sure what the hold up is.

Robert Miller is trending to Miami. Find it weird that he was on the market for this long.

I'd still like to bring him back.

If we get Madar, I wonder if we bring back Zipper too?

I would guess the offer there would be for one of the "non-paid" spots

Agree wholeheartedly. Like others have a little more confidence because he has done it before. But I guess if this “plan” or strategy for this year doesn’t pan out as in underwhelms or objectively doesn’t meet the standard, I could atleast understand the logic it’s not totally flawed or coming from Pluto.

After year 2, should have let Matt go. Sad but it’s true, that was pathetic and embarrassing and they kept doing it. Wade is going to be divisive no matter what happens. I really don’t think CMM caught even remotely enough heat. There was still talk two months ago about bringing him back for this year. What I mean and it will sound harsh, even if Dedan Thomas and Max McKinnon were paid each $100 in cash and a couple of raising Canes gift cards in NIL to play here. It still would have been a hell no, how could anyone in the SEC choose those two and think a good result would come out of it. So atleast if we overpay for some players and it doesn’t come together, we won’t get embarrassed night in and night out every night. Divine from Michigan State is probably not a day one difference maker all alone in year one. Atleast he can play at this level. Wade and staff started late in the portal, and for what seems like a number of reasons didn’t bring any players with him from NC State. So I guess F it, swing for the fences and go get some legit talent.

Please God no . He cannot play basketball at this level. I cannot think of one single redeemable quality he brings right now or could contribute to winning SEC basketball. It would be nice to have a guy sit for 3 years and develop but there is no time and you can’t waste money like that.
