I would think this would pave the way for Luis to have a good chance at eligibility.

One thing we can all agree on I think is that the NCAA and SEC are just another form of government and are only interested in their own power and money above all else. I did a dive on the SEC. Greg Sankey had to testify in court about his income. In 2025 he made 4.8 million and a little less for each of the three prior years. In contrast, the Big Ten commissioner who was second, only made 2.4 million. The only reason we know about Sankey was that he was testifying in court because the SEC's official policy is not to publish their budget and very little other financial information. However, information from an IRS audit showed income of 852.6 million and expenses(including distribution to member schools) of 823.1. So one can infer net income of around 29 million. Not bad for old men who probably put in four hour work days and are on vacation for a couple of months. The really astonishing stat from the IRS was that the SEC has assets of 541. million! Wow! No wonder they want to hold on to power!!

With how the SEC is moving I don't think Luis ends up ever suiting up (hope Im wrong), however everyone else should be good to go. The internationals won't be an issue bc there are just to many in the conference the SEC could never do it. Roster is gonna end up

This is till very much a good roster and will be a tourney team. If somehow Luis ends up plating, this is a top 15 roster.

I don't know if we ever actually have to announce. Not sure if there is a rule on that or not.

It's not up to the SEC. The NCAA has already deemed several internationals with resumes similar to Niang and Dessert ineligible. The NCAA really has no choice; almost every one of these 5-for-5 cases points out the wild inequities b/w how the NCAA has treated US pros and international pros. So now they're taking a hard line on the internationals. That's why LSU retained Don Jackson; the expectation is that Niang and Dessert will probably be ruled ineligible at some point.

Unfortunately, LSU basketball is headed down a path where Dent, Clark, Naing, and Dessert will be at the mercy of the courts, and we could see them scratched from the roster at any point if a motion to stay is granted (assuming that Naing and Dent are able to get an injunction if they sue).

One other factor: there are rumors of numerous internationals pulling the plug and going back overseas for guaranteed money. I don't know how basketball NIL works for internationals. Are the LSU internationals footing their own bill at this point, or was their NIL guaranteed with the expectation that LSU would go to the courts to try and get them eligible if necessary?

Anyone know when the NCAA will start making a ruling on internationals? I know we're not the only team waiting on rulings. Exhibitions start in 5 or 6 weeks.
