Anything that isn’t the weave or motion that takes 2 minutes to get a shot is “street ball”. I’m not sure these people even realize there’s a shot clock.

I just fear that all the Euro guys get sick of all this and just go back and get paid less to play over there because it is a guarantee. If that happens then we may have to draw a lucky seat number at the games and the winner gets to be LSU's center for the half.

??. Well, probably backup center, because Rucic is likely to be cleared.

This going back and forth every week is just unreasonable when it comes to the players and that seems to be the through line in all the rulings. The NCAA allowed this to happen, what Sankey is doing is just rotten and I don’t think it has anything to do with fairness or institutional integrity.

Whats crazy is this guy committed to A&M in April. Prior to committing he played a whole season in the G League, averaged 19ppg & i hadn't heard anything about him. Yet Worldwide Will & RJ Luis have been plastered across all platforms for the last few months as unethical. Make it make sense.

Don’t be surprised if the courts end up ruling that certain conferences or programs are a pro league. It’s going to happen relatively soon anyway but this might be Sankey’s angle. He’s really just Tony Petitti’s little bitch.

I don't think getting paid in a timely manner is a necessarily a guarantee in Euro basketball.

Both Tennessee and Ohio 5 for 5 cases have ruled in favor of the NCAA so those guys are no longer eligible at the moment.... probably not a good sign for Dent and Clark

September 29 is a date to circle. This is when the next hearing is set for the California case that made Clarkk and Dent eligible. If a stay is issued, as has been in the Colorado & Ohio cases, then they would be ruled ineligible. LSU has an exhibition game vs. McNeese October 8.
NCAA granted another stay, this time in Tennessee. A trend worth tracking with the Dent/Clarkk hearing date so close to the start of the season

Got faith but if we somehow don’t have Clark and Dent along with Luis and possibly Niang then numbers get really scary low to where we will be recruiting from the UREC to have enough to play. Really hope these guys come through. While it would be movie worthy, really don’t want to go through a season with like 6 guys.

Itll be wade’s fault for risking it all on these iffy guys to start. Im a fan, was before, but there was alot of unnecessary risk here. On the other hand, if it had all worked, prob a top 10 team in the country, so i guess it depends on your risk tolerance

Agreed. Extremely risky to have 1/2 your roster dependent on legal action to play. Why not sign 7 portal players and roll the dice on 4-5 guys above that?
Don’t understand this strategy with the budget available.
One caveat, the international players didn’t seem as risky as RJ Luis in the Spring. But once the NCAA indicated in April they were going to be more stringent on international eligibility, you’ve got to pivot.

We’re gonna be alright. At least gonna be better than last year.

We did not land several of the guys we wanted in the portal when Wade got here. The international move was a pivot. Wade is just trying to find a way to win big year 1, if possible, but also knows it’s a complete rebuild. The hype of the transfers will make it hard to swallow not being great immediately, but we will be fine regardless.

Just saw the big 12 ruling, apparently it's doesn't mean another for "pre enrollment " so any euro pro is safe from it as long as the pasa the NCAA's eligibility. The rule would only apply if someone went to college then left.
Maybe that's the same wording for the SEC? Idk

I get it, we missed on Haggerty and others and then decided to go all in on the international route. Gambling more than 1/2 your roster on the court system still wasn’t the smartest route.
There is a very real possibility that we only have 5 eligible players as of the second week of classes.

Nobody is going to be happy if things go sideways for us, but when Wade recruited and landed every single one of these international players, none of these statements had been put out by the conference. The path to eligibility was actually clearer and more likely before all this transpired.
In and odd situation, the Ole Miss TE debacle might screw Wade more than anyone.
And finally, yes we could have found a bunch of middling mid-major transfers like we have seen in the past year.
But with the way things work today with complete roster overhaul every single year, what’s the point of signing and paying a team full of NIT guys? Nobody cares about where you finished last year, they only care about what you will pay me this year. So shoot for the stars and if you miss you will probably be just as irrelevant as you would have not shooting.

Never said don’t take some risk. I said limit your risk to 4-5 players, not 7.

I feel ya. On the bright side if we end up losing half the team and running walk ons, then we should have $1 billion dollars available for 2027 squad right?
