In and odd situation, the Ole Miss TE debacle might screw Wade more than anyone.
This is what is pissing me off the most right now. We didn’t need that dude, and now, it may have fricked our basketball plan.

Yeah I’m kind of mad at the football team as well for screwing this up for us potentially

I don't think we can put this all on football. It may have added a cherry on top but we all know that Worldwide Will was pushing a lot of buttons with the RJ Luis situation.

The reason Kiffin and other coaches held out of the PCSA was because they feared retroactive rulings from the NCAA and their conferences after players were cleared by the courts. The PCSA was amended to stop that, Kiffin and the others voted for it then the first thing Sankey does is go back on it. Sankey the problem

It does look like a mess but I’m not certain there isn’t something behind it. Setting up that rule with an obvious loophole in it, assuring the coaches there would be no retroactive rules made post court decisions then doing exactly that looks more like a trap than a mess to me.

Oh it’s 100% a trap.

Looks like Warren from A&M is the first guy to decide to move on rather than fight the new SEC rule. He originally committed to A&M back in April and recently gained temporary eligibility and the ability to transfer via a court case.
Luis Jr. could take the same route, but for now, it sounds like he is sticking it out with LSU.

Santos is playing for Brazil tonight. Niang is reportedly playing for Italy tomorrow.

So they may be following money instead of uncertainty? Niang is a big loss, however is this situation concerned with international play\law?

Post rankings update, Asa is now a consensus top 15 recruit in the class of 2027 and is #8 on the ESPN next top 100.

There are still players available in the portal that could fill the last spots. It looks like most are SRs seeking a 5th year, so I don’t know which meet the SEC standards.
The underclassmen are slim pickings as you’d expect, but there are some 3-stars left. I didn’t scroll beyond a couple hundred players, but you can definitely fill some spots and hope one plays better than his ranking like McKinnon did.
Remaining Portal Players

2027 Top 10 CG (6’4,185) King Gibson has scheduled an official visit to LSU along with 4 others. His list of visits includes Louisville (9/4), UCONN (9/13), Arkansas (9/21), LSU (9/25), and Baylor (10/9).

This is why I believe in Wade bringing us back. Look at the list of visits for King. He is visiting a bunch of schools that are more basketball schools then anything and then us. To be in the mix for top guys and at least have a shot is good to see this early.

3 five stars have LSU in their reduced lists even though LSU hasn’t been relevant in basketball in 4 years (Alston, King, and Montgomery). Even just one of these guys can change the atmosphere overnight.

I suspect LSU is offering a big NIL.

Wade has always been an elite recruiter. Unfortunately, the timing of his hiring didn't line up well for the legal portal class. Wade went big out of the gate, but most of the top guys already had deals in place. In the end, his top portal targets stuck with the deals that were already in place.
The '27 HS & portal class will be top-tier, and there won't be any questions about their eligibility.
