But for some, post-LSU CoachMc should be off hands, just like when he was the HC. The Make-A-Wish coach moniker was spot on. I’ve never seen a coach treated like some expect and demand CoachMc to be treated. This isn’t really the right thread for it, but that ship has nailed. It’s amazing to see the same posters that defended 17 SEC wins in 4 seasons are the same that don’t want anyone to mention him negatively. All the other LSU coaches never received even close to the same benefit.

Even though he was only here for 4 years, I’ve never seen a coach with such a long leash at LSU. I mean, Brian Kelly was significantly more successful than Mcmohan and didn’t even make it through year 4.
I have no clue how this former mid major coach built up this much goodwill within the fan base and program considering most people forget we had a men’s basketball team.

By all accounts Matt McMahon is a good man and was highly regarded as one of the best young coaches in the country before he got to LSU. I think some criticism is fair, but to constantly trash someone as bad as LSU fans have, while defending the guy who got us in this position to begin with is very hypocritical.

Why do you think he had a long leash? Could it be possible that he was set up for failure to begin with? Maybe. No one knows. A ton of LSU fans won't even consider that, yet I've heard those same people say they are ok with a mediocre team this year even after the new Athletic Department pledged a new support for the program. More hypocrisy.

Yep, I actually do.
One of my former players is being contacted by Will Wade, spent Summer League playing for the Thunder. Waiting for the green light on eligibility. He's a 5 for 5 kid. So there's my contribution.
It's funny that now you want to boomerang back to recruiting after you've already made an arse out of yourself with everything else.

Egads man, some of you threw shite at him for four years. What the frick else can you say about him. There is no reason to constantly inserthim into the discussion. This is Will Wade's program, His recruiting and his coaching and developing the players. The same applies at Michigan. Its no longer Dusty Mays national championship program, its up to the new coach to forge his program just like Wade must do.

If Wade somehow lands this plane with the Euros plus Dent, Clark, and the guys already signed...will be a top 25 team with or without Luis.
