No McMahon fan but credit to all the signings I haven’t seen leaked prior so I could see being in on anyone. My perception of concern is we’ve run out of money bc what looked to be grabbing some of the best talent available, which is how we stared, has stalled past 2-3 weeks. Hope they have a few more great signings on paper and I’ll hope for the best, but I’m not going to be critical they haven’t pulled some guys I’m excited to watch or perceive them to be out on anyone.

The number for him apparently is $1 million.
I'd be surprised if LSU has a million in NIL left. Depending on what ranking you use, Davis probably slots between $1 - 1.5 million, and these late signing guys are reportedly really squeezing teams.
CMM has 11 players now, and I doubt any of them are playing for just a scholarship. It doesn't make much sense to spend limited NIL dollars on slots 12-15. Maybe one of the FR won't make it to campus? Maybe one of the 11 was a real bargain basement player who doesn't care about playing time?

Never said Mcmahon was above criticism for some coaching decisions and I'm an LSU fan not a coach fan. And the fact is those bigs in 2018 were more talented than Chest and Collins. Period. The whole team was more talented which is why when the offense broke down, as it did a lot, they would resort to "street ball" but had the talent to beat their man one on one so it worked. And the fact that there are those on here who struggle to read an 8 sentence paragraph sys all I need to know.

The Howard kid is intriguing. 40% from 3 and he shoots way beyond the arc. Can handle the ball and also has a mid range shot. Definitely worth a look and might not be that expensive.

He only took 3 3PA a game, but was also just a freshman, something to build on there hopefully with him. To win conference player of the year as a freshman is really impressive, even if it's the MEAC/SWAC or whatever.

I'm just looking at his skill set as a freshman. He is way farther along than Collins was as a Jr and has multiple ways of scoring inside and out. Also has great vision. Has a scorers mentality.

Some stats against power conf teams this season for Harper:
Kansas (1st game ever in college) - 16pts, 6/10 FG, 4 reb, 3 ast
Missouri - 7 pts, 1/9 FG, 8 reb, 4 ast
Cinci - 23 pts, 8/16 FG, 10 reb
Had 5 30+ point games this season
They call him a guard and I kind of agree looking at the highlights. A touch slow for a true guard but he has that kind of game

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Listed as a Forward but plays like a guard. Still has to see if it translates to SEC but he has a number of weapons and the right mentality. Might not require that much NIL.

Chatter of Indiana trying to get Robert Miller to jump in the portal. Don’t see it happening but if so it would have to be today.

That would be surprising, and a huge blow to McMahon given Miller is an LSU legacy and a guy that really from start to finish was the most involved of the 4 freshmen.
Also, something interesting to keep an eye on is players in the portal who technically have no remaining eligibility. The reason they are entering the portal is uncertainty that the current eligibility framework (5 years to play 4) may be enjoined by the House settlement or the courts. That would create even more chaos for every team. Specific to LSU, it could mean they could "re-sign" a guy like Cam Carter.

If you have been following the ever changing NIL saga, the clear next step was a fight to remove the 4 year eligibility rule. We (somewhat) jokingly say these guys are professional athletes now. But there is a real possibility that becomes very much true if the eligibility rules are removed, meaning guys may actually become "professional" college basketball players. Guys that aren't good enough to play in the NBA, but can get paid relatively well to play 6, 7, 8 years of college basketball. As long as they are eligible to be enrolled as students they are eligible to play college sports.

New update per Brune:
- The Indiana Robert Miller situation was real but sounds like we were able to get him locked in with a new deal.
- We’re backing off of Kennard Davis. Could have been price tag or other recruits were more interested in.

Mahmoud has two years left. Bet he could still drop 20 to 25 a night.
You know the Diesel would love one more year in the PMAC. He is back in shape.. Can you dig it?
Tremont could solve our PG woes.
Bet Kim would welcome Seimone and Big Syl.

A decision could be coming by 5PM Eastern today:

It is about football, but it should apply to basketball too.

Based on public info, if we had to up Miller's deal, it's almost certain we would not have the funds to meet Kennard's current demands.

We don’t have depth in the front court either. I thought it was weird to that rothstein didn’t have miller on our bench for the rothstein 45 but it didn’t have

That Rothstein site is cool, but that was a big oversight on their part to leave R. Miller off altogether, because he wasn't even listed as a loss nor on the team, and I think there is a fairly good chance that R. Miller will even start over Nwoko at center, but if not, I'll be shocked if he doesn't beat Gilhool.
