This is why Orgeron will struggle in recruiting. He's a good pitch guy early on, but not a great closer. While he's a great recruiter, there is a difference once you take on significant other duties on top of that. Being a position coach doesn't really add that much in comparison to being a coordinator or head coach.

This is why LSU recruiting won't be as good overall under O. He was great when he could focus on it and Dline, but now he can't and will struggle.

That is why you risk a ton by by hiring someone that is mainly a great recruiter and position coach for head coach without proof they can handle the heavier load and still be as good on the recruiting trail.

We flat out aren't paying as much. Our stipend each semester for athletes is even less than Bamas.

this.
im so sick of the "plays for championships" shite.
if its not that, its "co sabun put payas in da pros"

there is no convincing me they don't shell out more for players. I agree with the anonymous coach. "if saban wants a player, its over. he buys the best"

Arden Key, Chaisson, Tra Valentine ring any bells? 3 late closes by O.

Back in 2015-16 , LSU's COA stipend was $3800 as each football player recv'd $422 per month. ALA's stipend was $5400 as each player recv'd $600 per month. Compound the COA stipend with the money & benefits players receive from the REC and it's a no brainer why kids flip to Bama.

I can't find the most recent 2017-2018 published COA stipend numbers for all SEC schools, but did see where Texas A&M made a huge jump in their athlete stipends from $3528 or $362/month (2016) to $6294 or $699/month (2018).

If LSU wants to compete in recruiting and on the field with ALA and the other top paying SEC schools, then our COA stipend needs to be on the same level as our competition. Pretty sure other coaches are already using this against us in recruiting since 18 yr old kids love to brag about their Benjamins

Saban sells his system and winning championships. We need to start beating the Alabama's, Georgia's and getting into the championship series. I like the way we have started and the ranking so far, but we need to finish the season the way we started. We will not go undefeated but 11-1 will get us in that group!

Kirby was recruiting at an elite level way before their season last year.

Don't they have to give the stipend to all student athletes and not just football players?

No one is a great closer when the other guy is dangling 6 championship rings in the last 10 years in front of a kids face.

Exactly. Its the USC/Carroll days type thing. Theyre the "it" program winning at a unseen historical rate. Like it or not, kids cimmitted or uncommitted are gonna want to go there. Dont like it, beat them.

Its a shame that the only way we retain a player's commitment is if Bama doesn't have enough room.

And other times we have to offer their brother to get a commit over them

It really is some BS

I can tell you 100% that it matters how you are raised. There is absolutely NO Way my kid would ever go to Bama. Never ever would he even consider Bama. He would want nick Saban to call him just to be able to hang up on him. Some people raise thier kids to be traitors and some to be proud louisianians.

I don't think it's Ben. I think it's Nic. Hard to swallow, but one of the best coaches ever.
