Marcus banks waiting to hop on the Bama train

LSU commitment Marcus Banks was in Tuscaloosa for an official visit and multiple sources close to the Texas native’s recruitment stressed he had a great time after arriving on Friday, and that Alabama put themselves in good position if they decide to make a push for his signature down the road. Banks took a summer official visit to Texas A&M and then LSU before committing to the Bayou Bengals. But Alabama has always been lurking in the weeds with Tide assistant Jeff Banks having established a strong relationship. As noted, the visit went fantastic with Banks spending time with Baton Rouge native Christopher Allen as well as Deionte Thompson and Jaylen Waddle. There were nothing but good reviews coming from the Banks camp. One source indicated if Bama makes the push we discussed earlier, the Tide will be tough to beat.
Basically Bama likes him but waiting to see how numbers work out and if they do banks is ready to join them.

I guess now we know why he jumped in the ratings recently.

hate to break it to you guys but Bama could probably flip 75% of the class if they wanted to. Once they lock in on a kid and pull out all the stops it's usually over with.

Reason number 236 why I hate bama

Not what I wanted to read this morning. Especially after watching Surtain play well on Saturday.

You would think with having no depth at corner we would have players ready to come in but it is what it is.

Not unless they process some guys and don't get a couple bigger names they're after. As I've said before, they're numbers are tight as hell this cycle, and they're still after some bigger names.

Yeah. I just looked are their board and came to the same conclusion. Glad you are thinking the same.

Its a shame that the only way we retain a player's commitment is if Bama doesn't have enough room.
We should be neck and neck with the biggest boys in the yard in recruiting. Period.

Saban sells his system and winning championships. We need to start beating the Alabama's, Georgia's and getting into the championship series. I like the way we have started and the ranking so far, but we need to finish the season the way we started. We will not go undefeated but 11-1 will get us in that group!

This is the same song and dance we hear after each commit takes a visit to another school.

If Ed Orgeron punches Nick Saban in the mouth everything will change.

Bama signed 4 CB's last year (w/ Surtain being the top CB in the country), they have two 4* CB's committed already and probably are in some other highly rated CB's. Hopefully he'll see the light and stay w/ the good guys.
ETA: Of course, it I'm going to be intellectually honest, we have the #1 CB this year and 2 other 4* CB's committed in this year's class. I still think he sees the field earlier w/ us since Greedy is likely gone this year and Fulton after 2019.

I swear this is why LSU people hate bama so much. Spend a whole fricking year whooing a kid only to have them get stolen with one visit to bama. Surtain comes to mind along with most of the La kids on the bama team.
Guess he will be driving that new Car around town if he changes his commitment and will be a 5 star when it happens
