It won't stop until miles demands better of himself and staff. Spend what it takes. Get dead weight off the staff. And miles himself needs to set some new priorities.

This probably deserves it's own thread (or should be in Christmas Tree thread)...

Clifton Garrett is getting an in-home by Chief tomorrow.

Don't forget about Quille! Still hope for some good news tomorrow!

Funny thing..

If we worked our arse off in Alabama right now for top flight recruits we would strike out.

IMO, all of this out-worked you are hearing is probably what the Alabama coaches are telling guys like Hootie to say, who are committing to them, so the fans can blame Les and LSU for losing him and not the kid for choosing Alabama.

How in the world are getting so out worked in our own backyard.

Read some of this thread and you'll have a better clue.

It sounds like the Monroe folks are unintentionally saying we aren't breaking enough rules.

We talked about this a couple pages back

There is no doubt that LSU is getting out worked in at least the Monroe area.

BUT... LSU may be ok with that for a couple reasons.

Would like our chances if this Sunday night game had an LSU DB playing in it. Oh wait, Corey Webster. Hey Les, turn the channel to NBC!

Which 10 current players will Alabama give medical redshirts to that will allow them to sign another full class?

102 signed over the last 4 years.

Actually the same thing happened to LSU back in the 80's/90's when we started to try expanding to a national recruiting base. Seems the same thing is occurring again. The only difference being that now we're actually landing some of the higher profile national recruits.

Nah, not really the same. Back then LSU struggled most in NOLA but wasn't a powerhouse like we have been for all of these kids lives. We also weren't losing kids to 1 school. Saban going to Alabama was the turning point.

We're about to haul in the best signing class in LSU history and some fans are about to jump off the roof. Amazing.

they aren't just losing recruits in Monroe....need to stop pinpointing just this area...we have missed out on recruits all over the state...for whatever reason just stating fact
and one more thing I seriously doubt these same recruiting conversations are happening in other states but that's just my opinion.

True. Because everyone in Alabama sees LSU as the enemy and no one would give Les the time of day after Saban got here. I have been in Alabama Saban's entire tenure. He controls this state and the minds of the people to such an extent that any communication with LSU or LSU coaches is akin to consorting with the enemy.

It is crazy here. You would never see Alabama people having anything to do with LSU. There are LSU fans here, like me, because we are from Louisiana. But, there is no ability to recruit or anything like that.

Saban has used his time at LSU to attack the LSU program piece by piece. He goes after our recruits because he knows he can still get who he wants from elsewhere and if he takes a Landon Collins or CRob, it makes LSU weaker. So, he spends more time in LA.

But, it doesn't matter how much time LSU spent in Alabama. Alabama high school coaches will not cozy up to Miles or anyone from LSU the way that Louisiana coaches cozy up to Saban. He is still revered/feared in Louisiana and people don't recognize that his intent is to syphon talent out of the state until LSU is finished.

In Alabama, this is their whole world. They don't fool around here. And, Saban is perfect for them.

Does Dr. Eye still have that enormous house on the Bayou DeSiard country club? I went to a function he had there once many years ago.

Clever I guess. I'm not so much mad as I am just over it all. I read the RB often but some of the shite going on in today's recruiting world is mind boggling. Saban has found new way to skirt rules year after year and every year we're shocked when he pulls a 5 star out La. Kids are now contacted by ESPN to do their pick on live national television. It's just a world that has gotten completely out of control.
