It's close enough to time where Hootie decided to answer texts/calls/questions I would figure. It was no secret CLM was just at his house, sure they bugging the frick outta him.
Knowing Hootie, he probably had a pre-set mass text to the media guys that have honored his wishes so far. He's savvy that way. (that's how this works for the guys who make a living off of it)
