I don’t think that is a bad take when traditionally after the 4th round deals over 1M is rare.. Last year only 7 players got over 1M after round 4…I will say this year can be different with the change in the format of having rounds 1-4 in one day though

One funny thing I noticed looking at the position groups is that William Patrick is the second oldest OF on next years roster. Only Bino is older.

didn't LSU have someone "pull out" a few years ago and was drafted anyway later in the draft?
Cam Johnson announced his intention to come to school and then was drafted in the late rounds (right around DJ Uiagalelei IIRC).
Jake Brown tweeted a tiger emoji and then was drafted by the rangers in the 15th or 16th and deleted the tweet.
I'm sure there have been others.

it just takes Monroe folk a minute to learn to read.

I was listening to Jason Armstrong tonight
He feels good about Sides and starting to feel good about Washington
He feels that Washington is the OF freshman that is most polished. Murphy has big time ceiling but might a little time to develop.
Murphy doesn't post much about LSU. He seems to be looking to go pro.
Armstrong feels like Santarelli and Adams will both still get big offers.
He thinks Stringer should go pro while he is a hot topic.
NIL money lost by Paz, could have been used on Nawrocki. That might be the reason Jay couldn't take him back.

I get what he’s saying, but he’s also got the exact type of profile that could develop into a future first round pick.

Here is an update of the SEC players in the MLB top 200 that are still available. Just something to keep an eye on. If I missed any, please correct me. I didn't check to see if any of these are seniors.
Oklahoma: D. Lachance, L.J. Mercurius, J. Willits, Camden Johnson
Arkansas: E. McElvain
Florida: L. McNeillie
Tennessee: H. Ford, G. Wright
Ole Miss: W. Libbert
Georgia: T. Phelps

Cam Johnson being a top 200 prospect after 3 years of looking like nuke laloosh against SEC competition just baffles me. I know you can’t teach 6’6 with 95 from the left side, but after Yeskie and Skip Johnson at LSU and OU couldn’t fix him, I’m very curious to see which MLB team thinks they can.

Well, he was supposed to be 100 mph from the left side but nobody actually ever seen that. Those showcase guns must’ve been miscalibrated

That’s a different player. Camden Johnson is a position player.

Not the same guy. The former LSU pitcher is Cameron Johnson.

how are we looking so far in the draft on HS guys. Guessing too early?

Good as you could reasonably hope for on Day 1. Day 2 could be a bloodbath. We shall see.

Worley the LHP from Stoney Brook didn’t get drafted yesterday, I wonder how much he’s hoping to get and if we are still an option for him

Who would be the most likely candidate to come to school and turn himself into a top 10 pick? Is there anyone in our class remaining of that caliber?

Sides or Stringer. But top ten is really hard to say. Maybe someone like Murphy or Washington, but Murphy has more to clean up and less time to do it.

The pitchers, for sure. I don’t think there is a top 10 caliber position player in this class. It’s low on premium positions & hit tool guys.

Well boys...let the drafting resume...
