I can’t see Santarelli making it to campus after that. It was a slim chance before that, and I think that slim chance evaporated.
I can’t get over how put together he is. He would be intimidating in the box as a big leaguer.

I hope Dominic's Mama wants him to go to college.

For the guys who understand hs baseball recruiting, would you change anything about the way we recruit? I guess what I’m wondering is if losing so many guys to the draft is avoidable or is it just a product of Jay recruiting so well. Seems oversimplistic to say we should just recruit less skilled guys in hopes the MLB doesn’t take them away

It's better to lose some top prospects than to have not any top prospects.

I wouldn't change it at all. I'd much rather get big commits and lose them to the draft than to pass on the big recruits and see them pass on the draft to go elsewhere. I think class size is always the tricky part.

time for my CWS format rant
As long as you’re talking about rule changes, I’d rather they increase roster sizes, especially since the reduction is not fully in place yet, than change the format of the CWS. If they don’t, I would think they will only reduce number of pitchers on the roster slightly, if they choose to reduce pitchers at all. This would mean reductions in position players, so recruiting 2 way players may become more important.

He seems like the only transfer lsu fans root against. Kinda weird
bullshite. I cheered against Brady Neal (white) and Ashton Larson (very white) the whole season and especially in the post season.

We were kind of doing that before Jay where we were trying to hit the sweet spot and our talent dipped. We’ve definitely had some success getting a few top guys through the draft, the issue last year was that Jay seemed to think he was going to get several more guys through the draft and they ended up signing. Jaden Fauske, Briggs McKenzie, Dean Moss and Maybe River Hamilton were 3 guys I think he thought he would get to campus and they didn’t. Things look different this year if you get the first 3 of the group.

I know you’re trying to race bait but I pulled against Brady Neil too

Casey McCoy from tech entered the portal
We should take this guy in my opinion

Definitely disappointing to see he a Nawrocki fly up boards. Then again, Jared Jones mashed at that event 3 times and was still a 9th round pick. Different swing, but maybe helps hold some hope.

Sort of off subject, but saw arkansas pulled traeger from tcu. Thats like 6 big time portal players for them. Would love to know their NIL budget compared to some of the other big sec schools like LSU, texas, a&m, and miss st

Interesting that MLB.com has the top 200 ranked players on their website. They have Cam Johnson at 166 and L.J. Mercurius at 172!

MLB prospect rankings and the way teams draft still factor in projectability. Just can't teach mid 90s from the left side. A lot of teams will think they have the right guys in the minors to fix his issues.

I talked to a friend who attended to Jay's luncheon last off-season. This might have been the first time Jay publicly mentioned that we need to better in the funds department. I don't know total money available for any team but Jay talked about revenue share. LSU was ranked around 14 out of the SEC teams. LSU was about $400,000. I believe Arkansas was first at 3 million. There were other teams with around 2 million.
