Yeah, Brady Neal was pretty despised. Especially the first year.

I think the higher the hype and also going to another SEC team factors more with players like Neal and Johnson. Or maybe that's just me.

I certainly don't wish them well if they leave for another SEC school so quickly after getting playing time. I don't necessarily fault those that don't play for leaving. I was actively rooting hard against Neal 2 years ago, but stopped caring this season. Somewhat same goes with Johnson, but definitely more invested in seeing Neal not do well.

Funny thing is many fans were saying how LSU could use Neal this season, but they wouldn't have put up with how poorly he did his first season at Bama. LSU won a Championship without him. That kind of helped me stop caring about Neal.

We should take this guy in my opinion

We are taking somebody from Tech (probably today) but it isn't McCoy.

I don't know their budget but they're another one of those schools like Miss State that has basically punted on the idea of being elite in football. I'm sure Arkansas is giving Cal and DVH most of their NIL money.

Baseball America did another update of the Top 500 Draft Prospects. I think they'll do one more after this before the draft. Here are the LSU related players and their movement from the last rankings:

Name POS 7 (500) 8 (500)
Derek Curiel OF 13 10
Logan Schmidt LHP 28 21
Jensen Hirschkorn RHP 36 43
Jake Brown OF 82 81
Will Adams OF/1B 101 87
Malachi Washington OF 111 115
Lucas Nawrocki LHP/OF 144 121
Cooper Sides RHP 119 127
Dominic Santarelli OF/1B 133 141
Anthony Murphy OF 155 155
Kolby Stringer RHP 221 162
Nathaneal Davis OF 169 170
Wessley Roberson OF 217 217
CJ Weinstein SS 226 226
Deven Sheerin RHP 232 230
Coleton Brady RHP 239 236
Dylan Blomker RHP 291 292
Cooper Moore RHP 296 299
Spencer Evans LHP 363 363
Parker Loew INF 469 472
Steven Milam INF 234 NR

Milam is no longer ranked because he made himself ineligible to be drafted.

How confident/not are we could get Sheerin back for 1 more year with leverage if he's looking around the $250k bonus mark?

My amateur estimation for his signing value would be in the $400-$450K. And at that value he should go.

If he's only getting offers around $250k, those offers wouldn't meaningfully change for the worse after a year, so coming back to school should be in play.

Feels like Schmidt, Hirschkorn, Adams, Washington, Nawrocki, Sides, Santarelli, and Murphy are gone.

Jay said he expects to lose 6-8 guys, and I find he's usually overly optimistic with these things, so there's your 8 right there.

I've seen the rumors that Weinstein is willing to sign for bus fare. That would make 9. Would have liked to get one of the outfielders to campus. Hopefully Jay can work some magic there.

If we end up losing every incoming freshman OF to the draft and we need to pull a depth CF from the portal, I wouldn't mind us taking a flyer on the NAIA kid River Pecina that played with Braun in HS.

But I'd prefer we make a push to get either Davis or Roberson to campus. I don't think Washington or Murphy are realistic.

Yeah Jay was saying he expects only 6-8 to sign I thought that seemed quite optimistic after we had 8 sign in a class of 18 last year and this year we have 24.

I'm sure he would be ecstatic for only 6-7 to sign, but there's a lot of tough decisions to make if 17-18 of those freshmen make it to campus.

I thought Nate Davis pulled his name from the draft, or was that just speculation?

It's been hinted at, but he hasn't done anything official. And apparently he was talked up for the draft on the Combine broadcast yesterday.

Moscona was talking about Davis and Patrick platooning until one wins the job as if he was on the team. I know he's not liked but he is getting inside info straight from the athletic staffs these days.

Not surprisingly Stringer keeps climbing.

Just from things I hear on youtube.com, so it is, Murphy and Sides are still in play.

I also wonder how would Hirshkorn feel about dropping past the first round?

Moscona also added an asterisk if he makes on campus

I definitely feel that Jay will try and put some sort of NIL package to try and get one of these freshman OF to pull their name from the draft. Hopefully one of them will take him on it.

The other asterisk was if they don't land Angel Laya.

His parents really missed the opportunity to raise a Wowen Watson. Could’ve been epic in the NIL era.

I love how when the news dropped he was for sure coming to campus by all the talking heads… now he’s a fast riser like the real scouts didn’t see the stuff and say hey this kids pretty good
