Though I’d be willing to bet that former Tiger Cameron Johnson was the only 1 of those 15 to fail to record an out.

I hadn't seen him pitch in quite a while.

Edit: believe he was injured.

I'm waaay out there, I kept reading Skip and I thought Skip hasn't coached since 2001, I didn't realize that Oklahoma's Baseball Coach was being discussed.

He was unpitchable.

Shockingly, he started game 1 of the regional finals against Georgia Tech. Faced 3 batters, proceeded to go: BB, WP, 2R HR, HBP before getting yanked. Didn’t pitch again rest of postseason. His last appearance before that (and last out recorded) was in another atrocious start against Tenn on May 14.

Hes been that way for a while. Hasn't really developed but still has the talent do so but it just hasn't worked out.

He’s a talented thrower and a terrible pitcher, at least at this stage in his career. As we well know as LSU fans, there is an abundance of this in modern day college baseball.

While Cam has barely shown any progression or development at this stage in his collegiate career (rising junior entering his senior year), it proves why he needed to go to college rather than a pro team taking the risk of throwing 6/7 figures at him straight out of high school (though IMG is hardly a HS).

There were guys on the rant pointing to his first 4 starts against Texas Tech, Coppin State, Gonzaga, and Santa Clara to show that our pitchers would leave and get better at other places. His next start he walked 7 and have up 5 runs in 2.1 IP @A&M.

Just an FYI, the MLB Combine started today. Saw some clips of Nawrocki hitting and he is listed most places as a LHP but the ball coming off his bat is really impressive.

In the regional in Atlanta, he used every pitcher that traveled - that was 15 total guys

As rosters shrink toward a true 34, this will need to a norm.

time for my CWS format rant

with a 34 man roster it seems awfully difficult to expect teams to play a double elimination format before a best 2/3 championship format

pitching is running on fumes at that point

Yeah one of the draft guys on Twitter said he’s getting $2MM+. He’s gone.

Yeah after today we have almost no shot of him getting here.

I might regret asking this question, but what exactly do you propose as an alternative?

Best of 8 moving to a best of 3 format with quaterfinals best of 3. Semi Finals best of 3 as well as the Final Best of 3?

keeping rosters bigger would be my suggestion.

Honestly, and increase to like 37 would be sufficient. And now with 5for5 there would be no need for an allowance of extra spots for redshirts.

Also with 5for5, guys won’t be as ready to shut down for a whole year for an injury that wouldn’t otherwise keep them out because they won’t need to preserve a redshirt.

5 for 5 and potentially no HS draftees would put a lot of baseballs into college. They can’t tighten up the rosters now

Plus it’s a huge oppertunity to grow the sport now that the top guys would be coming to school.

We should see more seniors playing college ball. It should help our chances with Garcia.

Brown is still unlikely, but worth a mention. Milam should have leverage again and might make a little paycheck next year as well.

That still has to make it into the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
